Writers and Actors Reading and Performing (WARP) [back to top]Theatre

Our Mission
Providing a safe, free, and accessible space for anyone to explore, experience, and learn the craft of theatre.

Writers and Actors Reading and Performing (WARP) Theatre is actively working to facilitate the creation and world premiere of new, original works for theatre in order to help achieve race and social equity. We are raising public awareness of underrepresented communities using the craft of theatre to foster the expression of their voices.

Note to actors:

Remember to have fun! Everyone watching is here to support you, we want to see you suceed; and enjoy yourself while doing it! <3

Casting for:

How we achieve our mission
• Weekly Open Workshops: Tuesdays@TPS
At these meetings Playwrights bring their new works, volunteer actors cold-read the scripts, and a Tuesday Night Facilitator leads a Socratic discussion about the piece. Playwrights gain valuable feedback leading to the further development of their piece.
• Monthly Rehearsed Staged Readings: Staged@WARP
These monthly staged readings offer a second level of workshop. After developing their work at our weekly meetings, Playwrights are offered the opportunity to see their work rehearsed and staged for the general public. There is no cost to the Playwright, and donations received at these events go toward paying our monthly rent. Any funds raised beyond this goal are evenly distributed to the volunteer actors involved in the reading.
• Biannual Showcases: Showcase@WARP
Every year we produce two showcases of the scripts work shopped throughout the seasons! Each showcase offers a new opportunity for Playwrights to target their writing to a particular theme. Submissions are open to anyone in the Pacific Northwest!
