Rentals by TPS :: Rehearsal Space for Rent
April 23, 2012

Theatre Puget Sound and Seattle Center are committed to providing affordable space to our arts community organizations and individual artists. We began the space management partnership in early 1999 with hourly rates at $6 and $8 an hour. The rates were raised in 2003 to $8 and $10 an hour after major improvements to the rooms. Some may remember that the rooms originally consisted of nothing but the walls and a concrete floor. Through fundraising we were able to add a softer wood covering to the floors, mirrors, and curtains as well as provide major upgrades to Theatre4 as a performance venue. Much has changed since 2003 and we are embarking on an effort to improve and streamline the rental system by implementing new software as well as improve our management through already expanded staffing. This necessitates a modest increase in rates at this time.

Effective April 23rd, our rental rates are increasing by $2 per hour per room. Additionally, the workshop fee and class fees will increase from $2 to $5/hr. This fee applies to any booking with paying participants. For the fully revised rate scale, see below. The rate change is effective to all bookings, paid or unpaid, past June 1 2012. Beginning this week, we will send revised invoices to bookings with rentals beyond June 1. If you wish to cancel bookings you have already made, please write us an email and we will remove your bookings and refund any payments without penalty.

We understand that even a modest increase may be difficult on some groups. Our goal is to improve your experience both in reserving space and in your experience during rehearsal.

We thank you for your understanding, and encourage you to contact us with any questions you may have.
