  1. What type of payment does TPS accept?
    • We accept exact cash, check, money order, credit card, and Paypal (Please include a 2.9% service fee when paying via Paypal.) Please make checks and money orders payable to Theatre Puget Sound or TPS and include your invoice number. To pay via credit card, call our office at (206) 770-0370 during business hours.

  2. Is a deposit required?
    • Bookings totaling $250 or more are required to pay a 20% deposit to reserve the space. Deposits are Non-Refundable even in the event the entire booking is cancelled.

  3. When is payment due?
    • Payment for the invoice is due in full 7 days prior to the first rental date. Payment for rentals made less than 7 days in advance is due immediately.

  4. What do the rooms come with?
    • All of our rehearsal studios have tables, chairs, and rehearsal cubes. All studios have a piano. All, but one, have wood floors. Some have mirrors. Be sure to mention exactly what your needs are at the time you submit your rental request.

  5. Do I have to be a TPS member to rent space?
    • No. Our rental spaces are available to all groups for non-commercial, artistic endeavors. However, certain restrictions may apply. Be sure to mention your intended use of the space at the time you submit your rental request.

  6. Can I run a class at Studio4?
    • Yes, provided it is arts-based. Please note that higher rental rates will apply for classes and other activities in which participants are charged a fee.

  7. What is your cancellation policy?
    • TPS has a seven day cancellation policy. You must contact TPS seven full days before the reserved date otherwise you will still be financially responsible for the time you have booked. For cancellations received within the required time frame, a credit will be issued to the account. Credits can be applied to future space rentals or a refund can be issued. TPS only issues refunds twice a year - on June 30 and December 31. Is this correct? - verify

  8. What are the rental policies and expectations for Studio4?
    • Please see our Community Use Agreement

  9. What about parking and public transportation?
    • Information regarding parking and public transportation options at the Seattle Center can be found at http://seattlecenter.com/transportation Information about public events at the Seattle Center which may affect your travel time and parking can be found at http://seattlecenter.com/events For directions, a street map is available at http://tpsonline.org/rent/map_street.html and a Seattle Center map at http://tpsonline.org/rent/map_center.html As with other locations – we should decide on which map to use.

  10. How early can I arrive at my rehearsal room? Can I stay later if I need to?
    • Your rehearsal room will be available at the time you booked it for. If you need access to the room earlier in order to load in, set up, etc., you will need to request that additional time when you book the space. Likewise, if you need additional time at the end of your event to load out or clean up, you will need to request that additional time when you book the space. Please note that the rehearsal studios are often booked back to back, so it is important that you request the actual time you need.

  11. How do I get into the room?
    • With the exception of Theatre 4, the studio will be unlocked at the time you have booked. Do not lock the door after you leave as another group may be using the studio after you. Seattle Center security locks the rooms in the evening after the last rental has left. Theatre4 is kept locked at all times. There is a coded key lock box on the door. You will be issued the code to the lock box at the time of your booking. Please be sure that the door is locked when you leave.

  12. Can I call or just show up and book space on the day I need it?
    • While TPS may be able to occasionally accommodate last minute requests, we discourage anyone from trying to book space last minute. Please note that we are often completely booked and unable to provide space without at least seven days advance notice. The earlier you can submit a rental request, the better we are able to accommodate your needs.

  13. Can I rent all of the rooms?
    • No. The maximum number of rooms any one group can rent per day is four.

  14. Can I request a specific room?
    • Yes. On the rental request form there is a section where you can state your room preference. However, TPS often may not be able to accommodate your request. Requests for rooms are filled on a first come, first served basis. The earlier you submit your request, the better chance you will have of getting the room you want.

  15. Can my group break off and meet in areas other than the room we’ve rented?
    • No. You will need to confine all of your group’s activities to the room you have rented. Hallways outside of the rehearsal rooms, the 2nd floor food court, the stairwells, or any other public areas are not to be used for rehearsals or meetings.

  16. Can my kids wait for me in the hallway while I'm in rehearsal?
    • No. Unfortunately, children cannot be left unattended anywhere in the Center House. Anyone that is connected to your event will have to remain in the rented room.

  17. Can I drive onto the Seattle Center campus for loading/unloading purposes?
    • Yes, but restrictions do apply. The vehicle entrance to the Seattle Center Campus access is located at 2nd Avenue & Thomas Street. Normal delivery hours for the Seattle Center are Monday-Friday morning until 11am. If you are able to load-in during these hours you will not need any additional permits. Please contact TPS’s Technical Director at techdirector@tpsonline.org for instructions on how to use the automated gate entry system. Access to the campus at any other time requires clearance from Seattle Center Security. In order to get permission to drive on campus during non-delivery hours, you will need to contact the TPS Rental Manager with at least seven days advance notice. Due to security measures at the Seattle Center, we are not able to grant loading privileges without seven days advance notice and cannot guarantee that permission will be granted by Seattle Center. If you are granted on-grounds access for your vehicle, you may park your vehicle on the Seattle Center grounds only while loading/unloading after which you must exit the campus and park elsewhere. Vehicles left beyond the time allotted for loading will be ticketed or towed.

  18. What time are the rental rooms available?
    • Our spaces are available for rent from 9am to 11pm. However, The Armory (formerly Center House) doors are locked at 9pm, unless prior arrangements are made. If you expect people to arrive after 9pm, you must inform TPS at the time of your rental request. Per Seattle Center regulations, anyone leaving The Armory after 9pm must leave the building via the north end, first floor exit.

  19. Can I use spike tape on the studio floors?
    • Tape for marking purposes may only be placed on the floors with prior permission from TPS. Only ½”cloth spike tape is to be used on the floors. No masking tape, duct tape or tape of any other kind is allowed. Tape placed on the floors must be carefully removed at the end of each rehearsal period (unless previous arrangements have been made with TPS staff.)
