Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I book space?

To book space, please fill out the form here: http://tpsonline.org/rent/book/index.php?action=rent_space_info

2. Can I book space for myself using the on-line calendar?

Due to the technical difficulties of our rental system, rental accounts are given on a case-by-case basis. We would prefer you instead submit an online request form here: http://tpsonline.org/rent/book/index.php?action=rent_space_info

5. What type of payment does TPS accept?

We accept exact cash, check or money order, PayPal, VISA, or Mastercard. Please make checks and money orders payable to Theatre Puget Sound or TPS and always include your booking ID number with every payment.

7. When is payment due?

Payment is due 7 days from date of rental. If booking a date that is less than seven days away - payment will be due immediately via PayPal, same day payment delivered to the TPS Office, or pre-paid account credit.

9. What do the rooms come with?

All of our rehearsal rooms have tables, chairs, and rehearsal cubes. Most rooms have a piano. Some have mirrors. Rehearsal furniture and chairs inevitably 'float' between rooms. If you require a certain floor or mirrors, make sure you select the specific amenity in your rental request.

10. Do you offer any special discounts?

Not at this time.

11. Do I have to be a TPS member to book space?

No. Our spaces are available to all groups who use them for non-commercial, artistic endeavors. However, certain restrictions may apply.

12. Can I run a workshop or class at Studio 4?

Yes, provided that your venture is arts related. Please note that higher rates will apply for workshops or classes when participants are charged a fee.

13. What is your cancellation policy?

TPS has a seven day cancellation policy. You must contact TPS seven full days before the reserved date otherwise you will still be financially responsible for the time you have booked. For cancellations received within the required timeframe, a credit will be issued to the account. Credits can be applied to future space booking or a refund can be issued. TPS only issues refunds twice a year - on June 30 and December 31.

14. What are the use, reservation policies and expectations for Studio 4?

16. How early can I arrive at my rehearsal room? Can I stay later if I need to?

Please, no to both. Your rehearsal room will be available at the exact time you booked it. If you need access to the room earlier in order to load in, set up, etc., you will need to request that additional time when you book the space. Likewise, if you need additional time at the end of your event to load out or clean up, you will need to request that additional time when you book the space. Please note that the rehearsal rooms are often booked back to back, so it is important that you request the actual time you need.

17. How do I get into the room?

The room will be unlocked at the time you have booked. With the EXCEPTION of Theatre4, do not lock the door after you leave as another group may be using the room after you. Rooms will be secured in the evening.

18. Can I call or just show up and book space on the day I need it?

No. While TPS may be able to occasionally accommodate last minute requests, we discourage anyone from trying to book space last minute. Please note that we are often completely booked and unable to provide space without at least seven days advance notice. The earlier you can submit a request, the better we are able to accommodate your needs.

19. Can I book all of the rooms at once?

No. The maximum number of rooms any one group can book per day is four in order to ensure availability to others in the community.

20. Can I request a specific room?

Yes. On the request form there is a section for additional comments where you can state your room preference. However, TPS often may not be able to accommodate your request. Requests for rooms are filled on a first come, first served basis. The earlier you submit your request, the better chance you will have of getting the room you want. TPS also reserves the right to change your room. Specifically, bear in mind that Theatre4 is prioritized for Performance.

21. Can my group break off and meet in areas other than the room we\'ve booked?

No. You will need to confine all of your group's activities to the room you have booked. Hallways outside of the rehearsal rooms, the 2nd floor food court, the stairwells, or any other public areas are not to be used for rehearsals or meetings.

22. Can my kids wait for me in the hallway while I\'m in rehearsal?

No. Children cannot be left unattended anywhere in The Armory. Anyone that is connected to your event will have to remain in the booked room.

23. Can I drive onto the Seattle Center campus for loading/unloading purposes?

Yes, but restrictions do apply. The vehicle entrance to the Seattle Center Campus access is located at 2nd Avenue & Thomas Street. Normal delivery hours for the Seattle Center are Monday-Friday morning until 11am. If you are able to load-in during these hours you will not need any additional permits. Access to the campus at any other time requires clearance from Seattle Center Security. In order to get permission to drive on campus during non-delivery hours, you will need to contact the TPS OFFICE with at least seven days advance notice. Due to security measures at the Seattle Center, we are not able to grant loading privileges without seven days advance notice. You may park your vehicle on the Seattle Center grounds while loading/unloading only - after which you must exit the campus and park elsewhere. Vehicles left beyond the time allotted for loading will be towed.

24. What time are the rooms available?

Our spaces are available for booking from 9am to 11pm. However, The Armory doors are locked at 9pm, unless prior arrangements are made. If you expect people to arrive after 9pm, you must provide your own people to allow them access via the 1st floor, north entrance. Per Seattle Center regulations, anyone leaving The Armory after 9pm must leave the building via the north end, first floor exit.
