MORE ABOUT THEATRE


  1. In fiscal year 2017-18, Tacoma Arts Live continued to fulfill its mission of “energizing community through live performance” through the nonprofit organization’s diverse portfolio of programs and events. By the numbers:

    1. 240,000 visitors attended events in Tacoma Arts Live’s venues

    2. 51,000 students, teachers, and family members were served through a variety of high-quality, free or low-cost education through the arts programs both onsite at Tacoma Arts Live and in school-based programs throughout the region

    3. $100,000 in free tickets were distributed to low-income community members through partnerships with nonprofit organizations such as Tacoma Housing Authority and the YWCA

    4. $24 million in overall economic impact





 




  1. Tacoma Arts Live serves the public in myriad ways, including its role as:




  1. A presenter of world-class performances and community festivals, with the aim of “reflecting our community onstage and off”

  2. A producer of regional theater, making Tacoma Arts Live a consistent employment source for regional artists

  3. One of the largest providers of educational services among performing arts centers in the Western US, serving more than 50,000 learners per year

  4. The steward of Tacoma’s Historic Theater District, steering the renovation of the citizen-owned venues in partnership with the City of Tacoma

  5. A gathering place for free community events such as the annual Holiday Tree Lighting and the Tacoma Farmers Market
