The mission of Dessert Theatre is to connect cast, audience and community by offering high quality family entertainment with a worldview that is consistent with the mission and ethos of Kent Covenant Church.
MORE ABOUT THEATRE
Kent Covenant Dessert Theatre was founded in 1996 as a way for church members to invite their friends/families to church for a fun, non-threatening evening of family entertainment. It has since evolved into a de facto community theatre with 50% or more of casts drawn from the community. Shows are family friendly and reflect themes that are postive, life-affirming and God-honoring. We produce both plays and musicals - usually in late April and early May. our most recent shows include: Beauty and the Beast (2018), The Fantasticks (2017) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2016). This is an all volunteer theatre group, whose director is on staff of Kent Covenant Church. Choreogrpahers and musicians are paid a stipend. Our 2019 show has not been chosen at this time (summer 2018).
