MISSION STATEMENT

Burien Actors Theatre is committed to being a leader in entertainment by producing intriguing professional-quality shows with the highest artistic integrity that excites, engages and involves both the local and expanding artistic communities in the Puget Sound Region.

MORE ABOUT THEATRE

Burien Actors Theatre was incorporated in 1980, growing out of small theater groups that had been performing in Burien since 1954. We aim to give the audience a fun and intriguing experience with unusual productions they can't stream online or see anywhere else. Each season Burien Actors Theatre offers 4 main-stage productions. Every other season, one of the main-stage shows is a playwrights festival of brand-new scripts by Washington state playwrights. We often offer one or two short one-off performances of music, dance or theater in cooperation with other performing arts groups. We provide outreach that includes a library of theater books (at 500 books and growing) available to the public at Phoenix Tea in Burien, short performances for free at various locations in and around Burien, low-cost tickets on Seven Buck Sundays and Half-Price night, student internships, training for theater novices and assisting with City of Burien events.. Seattle Playwrights Studio is BAT's resident playwrights group, meeting first and third Mondays monthly.
