MISSION STATEMENT

SHOWTUNES creates a home for people who love American Musical Theatre by producing concerts of its rare treasures and gems. Minimal staging, props, costumes, and a script-in-hand format create a fresh, pure experience of music and story for the audience. SHOWTUNES features rare gatherings of Seattle’s world-class talent.

MORE ABOUT THEATRE

SHOWTUNES creates rare, world-class experiences for people who love musicals. We produce concert versions of the treasures and gems of American Musical Theatre at Seattle’s premiere venue, Benaroya Hall.

In each production, extraordinary gatherings of Broadway veterans and Seattle’s finest from theatres such as 5th Avenue and Village Theatre take the stage and join the band for two performances only. This concert format, using minimal staging, costumes, and props, offers a fresh, pure experience of music and story to the audience.

Under the artistic leadership of Matt Wolfe and founding producer Maggie Stenson Pehrson, SHOWTUNES is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year. This 2015-2016 season features the reunion of THE WASHINGTONIANS, Scott Warrenders wacky "choir with a sense of humor" on December 5/6, 2015, followed by concert stagings of FINIAN'S RAINBOW on March 19/20, 2016 and WORKING - A MUSICAL on May 7/8, 2016.  All performances are in concert at Benaroya Hall in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall. In addition to these mainstage productions, SHOWTUNES has started creating cabaret concerts celebrating the wealth of Seattle talent at a variety of venues, including MUMO (Musical Mondays) at 500 East and Frolik Bar & Grill.
