Arts Day 2/2/2010 – Call for Volunteers

Every year, The Washington State Arts Alliance holds “Arts Day” down at our capitol, encouraging arts members to come down to Olympia and meet our legislators and learn more about their process.  Further, it’s a chance for us to show our lawmakers how important artists and the arts are to Washington.  In the past, WSAA has advocated for issues such as increasing the number of days that non-profit facilities can be rented to for-profit organizations, extension of lodging taxes for the arts, and inclusion of arts as a core subject in state education reform.

The WSAA seeks volunteers to attend appointments with legislators to thank them for their support and discuss the current issues facing artists in this state.  Help make a difference, and email Linda Rabadi Fair at lindar@empsfm.org or 206-262-3261.
