Seattle’s downtown theatrical scene received a long and fairly extensive article last week. Where can you find such an article? Of all places, the New York Times‘ travel section. The article, while far from comprehensive, is a welcome introduction to our artistic town. Journalist Patrick Healy interviews members from the Seattle Rep and Intiman and also details other venues like ACT and Teatro Zinzanni. Theaters outside of downtown are conspicuously absent (save for a random mention of Theater Schmeater), but that is likely due to this article being for people visiting Seattle and places like the Seattle Center and Pike Place Market are common tourist areas.
