Parley. Application deadline: April 1, 2018
Parley is thrilled to announce our search for a Production Intern for our funny, strange, talented, industrious group.
This is an unpaid, six-month appointment. It’s open and accessible to all ages (18+), backgrounds, gender identities, sexualities, ethnicities, and levels of experience.
Our intern will work closely with creator/artistic director Rebecca Tourino Collinsworth to manage the meeting-to-meeting administration of both Parley playwriting sections as well as each of our workshop productions. To date, Parley boasts 13 playwrights and 10 artistic associates under our mantle. We produce, on average, 12 world premiere workshops for a public audience every calendar year.
If you are our ideal candidate, you will:
•   Enjoy the diverse personalities of our group.
We need our production intern to attend the back-end of each weekly meeting:
Mondays from 7:30 – 8:30 pm
Tuesday from 7:30 – 8:30 pm
Our meetings on Mondays and Tuesdays begin at 6:15; our intern needs to arrive at the end of each meeting to be present while we will discuss production and organizational “business.”

•   Enjoy stage managing.
Our intern will attend (and take notes at) most rehearsals:
Mondays from 8:30 – 10:30 pm Tuesdays from 8:30 – 10:30 pm Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm
And attend and assist at all technical rehearsals and performances.

•   Enjoy working with artists.
That generally involves being impeccable with your word, consistent with your behavior, and finding a way to be kind even under duress.

•   Know what you’re responsible for and what everyone else is responsible for. Keep us on track.
We expect there to be a learning curve, but we need you take good notes and ask questions like,
“How can I help?”
“Who is responsible for that?” “When is that due?”
•   Behave professionally.
You’ll be the point-person for most administrative information, representing Parley – a writing group – so written and oral communication skills are important. You should know (or be willing to learn) how to write a quick, professional email (proofreading it first for spelling and grammatical errors) as well as how to convey information in person efficiently to well-intended people who may only be half-
listening. (Hint: Follow up by email. Always follow up.) You’ll also be the liaison between playwrights, productions teams, actors, and venues.

•   Interview and train the next intern when you’re ready to depart.

We’re offering:
•   Hands-on experience putting current production skills to use and learning new ones. You will be coached through every aspect of the job.

•   A mentor-mentee relationship with Rebecca Tourino Collinsworth, a teaching theater artist with 20 years’ professional experience.

•   An ever-expanding professional network of people (writers, actors, photographers, videographers, designers) who will want to work with you.

•   Our gratitude. We are a powerful, diverse, sincere, artistic family and we develop plays that matter.

If you’re interested, we ask you to:
1.   Explore our website. http://www.parleyproductions.com Get a feel for who we are and what we do.
2.   Request information and an application: parleyplays@gmail.com
3.   Complete your application and return your materials to us on time.
Our first round deadline is April 1, 2018.

Our selection committee will review all applications and schedule interviews with their top candidates.
Thanks for your consideration! We hope to hear from you soon.
