Seattle Public Theater
House Manager
Pay: $13/hr ($14/hr starting January 2018)

Seattle Public Theater is an intellectual, curious community that actively engages with ideas and people. Our mission is to produce compelling and socially relevant theater to spark conversation and ignite empathy.

We are seeking house managers for our 2017-2018 season who share this mission and vision. House managers serve as the face of the theater, responsible for greeting and assisting patrons, overseeing ushers, and acting as space supervisor for the duration of each performance. We are looking for proactive, professional problem-solvers who will foster a welcoming and safe atmosphere.

We produce six mainstage shows per season and maintain a busy schedule of youth productions between mainstage shows. Applicants should wish to work both mainstage and youth productions, a minimum of two shifts per week (shifts can range from three to five hours), and be available for increased shifts the month of December, when we have two holiday shows running in rep.


Spot-check the cleanliness of the lobby, house, and restrooms before and after each performance
Make coffee for mainstage productions and assist with bar and concessions as needed
Oversee ushers and assign tasks
Assist patrons with any needs that arise, such as accessibility
Oversee the lobby lights and house opening before, during intermission, and after the performance
Assist the box office associate as needed
Remain in the lobby during the performance, assisting patrons with any needs that arise
Return till and deposits to the safe at the end of the night
Shut down and secure the theater, being the last to leave after the performance
