What is the New Year but a long country road littered with the road kill of broken resolutions?  I’m not saying don’t make resolutions.  I’m not saying you shouldn’t aspire to be better, to get more done, to lead a healthier and more vigorous life.  I’m just suggesting that it might be a good idea to accept that self-improvement is a meander rather than a sprint, that you’re going to slip or dawdle or just go down the wrong path from time to time, and that’s okay.

In fact:  Why waste time?  Break those resolutions right now by staying up too late, drinking that extra drink, and laughing loud and long at things that maybe shouldn’t be so funny (but they are).  Then, the next day?  Start over.  And then break them again.  And then start over again.  Make it a resolution to pick yourself up and start over when you stumble.  Stumbling is okay, and even good for you.

We’re here to help.  Come to Annex Theatre this Friday night, Jan 3, at 11 pm, and toss a resolution or two to the wind with:

>>   The alarming comedy of EMMETT MONTGOMERY!
>>   The sideways tunesmithery of DAN HAMANN!
>>   The achingly vulnerable tales of BECKY BRUHN!
>>   Daffy puppetry from GAVIN CUMMINS!
>>   The mighty bombast of JOSEF KREBS!
>>   Banjotasticness from DAVEY PATNODE!
>>   Titillating theatrics from JAMES LYLE & ZACHARIAH ROBINSON!
>>   A nice nap from GUDE/LAURANCE!
>>   Musical smut from ERIN STEWART!
...and more, more, more!

Featuring our dry as toast host, BRUCE HALL!

Spin the Bottle takes place at Annex Theatre, just off the corner of Pike & 11th on Capitol Hill.  Only $10, and your ticket also functions as a free raffle ticket.  Good stiff drinks can be had at the bar for dirt cheap prices.  Want to know more about Annex?  Go to <www.annextheatre.org>, where you can also buy tickets.

Yours, StB curator Bret Fetzer
