Divested of purpose; unowned, disused, forgotten; busted and likely to remain so.

Watch six very different robots put on THE GAS HEART in order to prove their continued usefulness to the species that has cast them aside in favor of shinier toys and speedier tools. EYE, MOUTH, NOSE, EAR, NECK, and EYEBROW aim to convince us that they still have worth. Itís no 8-bit endeavor, especially for a group of glitched-out machines who have accumulated more than their fair share of damage and system errors. But is not a flawed design at the heart of being human?

DADA founder Tristan Tzara premiered Le Cúur ŗ gaz (THE GAS HEART) in Paris on June 6, 1921 as part of the Salon DADA. It was written as a parody of classical drama and defined by the author as "the only and greatest three-act hoax of the century ".

This August, Seattle's innovative performance art body the Irrational Robot Bureau (IRB) will present the world premiere of Founder + Bureau Chief Adrian D. Cameron's own adaptation of Tzaraís confounding anomaly of world drama, providing a singular experience for adventurous theatre-goers. THE GAS HEART will explore human/robot spectrum; the ultimate nature of purpose + feelings, connectivity + damage; and the delicate negotiation that exists between performer + audience.

Featuring Alexander Lyman, Craig Trolli, Jenni Taggart, Laurell Haapanen, Morgan Sobel, and Robert Riedl.

Produced with assistance from Umbrella Theatre.

Tickets $10 except for Tuesday night and Saturday matinee, which are both Pay What You Can.
