Making a movie is like trying to assemble a jigsaw puzzle, only youíre cutting out and painting the individual pieces in random order as you go along.  Also, you have sunglasses on, and itís night, and your flashlight batteries are dying.  Also, every now and then, a puzzle piece will just sort of burst into flame, for no reason.  Wheeee!

Thatís all Iíve got for you this month.  Because Iím making a movie, a very simple movie in most respects, and yet it still takes up 99% of my mental bandwidth.  Oy!

Fortunately, this excellent edition of Spin the Bottle was all curated before I dove in to movie-making, so you can be confident it will be entirely entertaining.  Come to Annex Theatre this Friday night, August 2, at 11 pm, and gaze with delight upon:

>>  The joyful yet subversive neo-bluegrass of THE HALF BROTHERS!
>>   A sneak preview of Annex Theatreís upcoming show, PRECIOUS LITTLE!
>>   Pixie-ish yet snarling tunes from SARAH PAUL OCAMPO and AARON HUFFMAN!
>>   Sly theatrics from KEIKO GREEN!
>>   The lilting yet sardonic sounds of COREY CLAXTON!
>>   Micro-memoir from JIM LAPAN!
>>   The inexplicability that is GUDE/LAURANCE!
>>   Rambunctiously masculine smut from TROY LUND!
...and more, more, more!

All held together by an unexpected MYSTERY HOST!

Spin the Bottle takes place at Annex Theatre, just off the corner of Pike & 11th on Capitol Hill.  Only $10, and your ticket also functions as a free raffle ticket.  Good stiff drinks can be had at the bar for dirt cheap prices.  Want to know more about Annex?  Go to <>, where you can also buy tickets.

Yours, StB curator Bret Fetzer
