Our mission is to provide international learning experiences to under-served youth through world language studies, transformational leadership training, and study abroad scholarships. OWN is an award winning after school global leadership program for primarily low-income and minority high school students. The program in Seattle, WA offers Arabic and Mandarin Chinese language classes, leadership workshops, summer language camps and study abroad experiences. Recently, OWN expanded our program to an under-served community in Oahu, Hawaii and we’re looking to expand our program model nationally. Position Summary:
The Youth Leadership Manager (YLM) ensures the effective and efficient delivery of student support services, including recruitment and retention, while serving as main liaison between OWN, our students and their schools. The YLM will also co-facilitate leadership weekly leadership workshops using OWN’s unique leadership curriculum. The YLM should have a passion for providing services to youth and strong understanding of social justice education, intercultural training, facilitation and curriculum development experience. The majority of time will be spent supporting OWN youth to ensure their successful completion of OWN programming.
