ACT Directing Assistant Internship
The directing assistant intern will work on Sketch Night: A Short Night of Shorts, part of ACT’s Pinter Festival. The intern will be an assistant to director Jane Kaplan. The intern will be exposed to the rehearsal process of a professional regional theatre. Rehearsals will be July 31-August 12. Rehearsals will be no more than 12 hours per week with some day and evening commitments. Starting August 14, the intern will be paid $250/week to be at each performance.
The directing intern will:
• Attend all rehearsals listed above as well as tech rehearsals August 17 and 21 from 12-5pm and the performances on the evenings of August 17, 19, 21, 23, and 24.
• Be prepared to assist the director in a number of ways, including making copies, tracking props, etc.
• Have an interest in theatre or other performing arts.
• Have some experience working on a theatre production.
In addition to receiving $250/week from August 14-24, the intern will get free tickets to ACT shows and the opportunity to receive complimentary tickets to other local arts organizations while interning.
