The Instructor
JERRY DOUGHERTY ( Production Manager) has worked in opera, dance, theatre, and musical theatre as a production manager, technical director and designer. He joined the Department of Theatre Arts in 2005 as the production manager and designed scenery for CTE's production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Hard Times and The Importance of Being Earnest in addition to being technical director for the Noh Telling project. His technical direction credits include The Magic Flute, Faust, Sour Angelica and The Devil and Daniel Webster at the University of Northern Colorado and The Threepenny Opera, and Nantasket at The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally he designed the scenery for UNC's Opera Theatre productions of The Old Maid and the Thief, Cosi Fan Tutte, and I Can't Stand Wagner. He was the resident prop master for the Little Theatre of the Rockies for the 2001 and 2002 seasons. He has also worked with Colorado Dance Theatre, Waco Children's Theatre, Austin Theatre for Youth, Sharir+Bustamonte Danceworks, and KNVA TV 54 in Austin, Texas. He is the house rigger for the Capitol Theatre and is on the advisory committee for the theatre technology program at A.C. Davis High School in Yakima, WA. He received his MFA from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2000. He is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve and serves as the Executive Officer for the 382d Combat Sustainment Support Battalion in Seattle, WA. He teaches Theories of Play Production, Stage Management and produces the Dr. Betty Evans Original One Act Festival.
