The Lovers (directed by Kim Deskin)
As Theseus prepared to wed Hippolyta, Egeus brings forward her daughter, Hermia asking that the Duke force Hermia to marry Egeus’s choice of husbands, Demetruis. Hermia argues, because she’s in love with Lysander. When the Duke insists that Hermia follow the rules of Athens and obey her mother, Lysander secretly suggests they flee to the forest and be married in another town. Hermia shares the plan with her dear friend Helena, who happens to be in love with Demetrius. Hoping to win Demetrius, Helena tells him of Hermia and Lysander’s plan. They follow the pair into the wood.
The Mechanicals (directed by Laura Drevecky)
To celebrate Theseus’s wedding a call has been put forth to design a play for the festivities. A group of workers from town, desiring the generous payment for the winning play, decide to rehearse “Pyramus and Thisbe” to present to the Duke. For privacy, they choose to rehearse in the forest, where, a mischevious Puck sees their practice. To toy with the mortals, Puck magically transforms Nick Bottom, who startles his friends with a new face—that of a donkey. The frightened mechanicals run back to town, leaving Bottom to brave the elements alone and overnight.
The Fairies (directed by Stephanie D. Farhood)
Meanwhile… in the forest, the King and Queen of the Fairies argue over a child, the beautiful changeling boy. Titania has him; Oberon wants him. Oberon devises a plan to trick Titania and sends Puck for a special flower with bewitching powers. He expects Titania to fall in love with a “vile creature” so that the boy can be stolen. With Puck searching for the flower, Oberon overhears Helena pleading her love for Demetrius. Offering a favor to the mortals, Oberon asks Puck to anoint “the Athenian lad,” as well, hoping for a happy ending to Helena’s story. Alas, Puck mistakes the Athenian men, and chaos ensues.
“The course of true love never did run smooth.”

Boyfriend and After Juliet for the Walnut Hill Summer Conservatory in Natick, Massachusetts. Stephanie has directed and choreographed all over the country from California to Alaska, New York to Mississippi. Along with her achievements in theatre Stephanie is also an award winning ballroom dancer.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (under Laurel Watt), Renton Civic Theatre’s
The Nerd (under Beth Peterson), and Redwood Theatre’s
Let’s Murder Marsha (with Laura Drevecky), Kim makes her professional directing debut with her third of this production.
Gary Alvarez (front of house) is pleased to work with Rik and Green Theatre Productions. With other companies he has done duty in stage crew and lighting.
Biran and Sky (stage manager and sound guy, respectively) are great talents who neglected to give me bios or last names. I know they’ve done a lot, and they work well together. We appreciate their help and definitely will get their names complete before our next efforts together.
Your donations tonight are appreciated as producing quality theatre requires not only time and talent, but also monetary support. Donate generously—we’d like to do this again next year!

John Myers (Theseus) is thrilled to make his Green Theatre debut. Joy gentle friends, joy and fresh days of love accompany your hearts!
Yvette Zaepfel (Hippolyta) is very happy to play Hippolyta for this show. After all, who would't want to be Queen of the Amazons? Favorite past roles include Ruth in
Blithe Spirit, Elizabeth Proctor in
The Crucible, and various hysterical mothers in the
Twilight Zones at Theater Schmeater. She also performs as the token white girl with the Asian American sketch comedy group, The Pork Filled Players. She would like to thank Mok for showing her how wonderful love can be.
Thomas Deskin (Philostrate) hates writing bios but has done a bunch of cool stuff. Feel free to ask him about it. He will be seen next in SPDV: Teen Sketch Comedy, Season 2 at The Historic University Theater, September 11-24. Green Theatre company member.
Kaitie Warren (Hermia) This is Kaitie's first post-college production (she graduated from the U. of Puget Sound in May 2005). In her short 22 years she has worked on hundreds of productions - acting, singing, dancing, designing, directing, teching, dramaturging, and writing. She has studied at San Francisco's ACT, Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre, Aurora Theatre and others, and has had internships at FOX studios and UPN. In October KT plans to go to Israel and spend 7 months writing plays in the desert; if you would like to see them she'll happily perform them for you when she gets
back.
Shane Regan (Lysander) has recently appeared in
Fiddler on the Roof and
A Zoo Story. No doubt there will be more. Safeway will miss him.
Andrew Bryce (Demetrius) A London native with New York roots, Andrew is delighted to be continuing his acting career on the West Coast. Starting in Bellevue playing various pieces of furniture in Exchange Theatre's HABEUS CORPUS in 2003, he has also appeared as The Mute in Renton Civic's THE FANTASTICKS and back with Exchange Theatre to play Eric in AN INSPECTOR CALLS. He is a Demetrius veteran, taking the same role earlier this summer with Last Leaf Productions. Other credits include Septimus Hodge in ARCADIA, the title role in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, Andrew (oddly enough) in SOULDANCE
and Hector in THE DEATH OF LUCY GOODENOUGH.
Jillian Ratliff (Hermia) performs for a second time with Green Theatre. With the show, she escapes the drab world of banking (which she amazingly enjoys) and gets to be creative (which she also enjoys, at the end of the day).
Andrew Carrol (Peter Quince) is glad to be back on the stage with Green Theatre. He is grateful for the opportunity to be on stage with a talented cast and crew. Andy has worked with Redwood Theatre for the last four years, both on stage and off. Last seen on stage in 2004 in the Northwest Premiere of "Domestic Tranquility" as the radio voice. Brian Walton (Nick Bottom) moved to Seattle, two years ago and has been involved in several area productions. He has been a stand up comic for the last five years and is currently in pre-production on a new play for the 2006 spring season entitled
"Otherwise Commited". In 2005
he joined Green Theatre after a great experience during
The 24 Hour Plays and also reestablished his production company with a new name: No Direction Productions. Green Theatre company member.
Anastasia Peterson (Robin Starvling) is making her “mechanical” debut. In previous productions of Midsummer, Annie graced stages as a fairy and as a lover. No telling what lies ahead for this capable actor. Anastasia is currently stage managing SPDV: Teen Sketch Comedy, Season 2.
Andrew Smith (Snug) is highly appreciated as a company member of Green Theatre Productions. His talents contribute to set, sound, props, AND performance.
Rik Deskin (Oberon) is the Artistic Director of Green Theatre. Recent stage roles: Bruno in
The 24 Hour Plays with Green Theatre; Third Witch/Porter in
Macbeth with Ghostlight Theatricals; and Oliver Costello in
Spider's Web with Renton Civic Theatre. He will be seen in 2006 in the feature film THE STANDARD and can currently be seen at various film festivals in the short film, SNOW DAY, BLOODY SNOW DAY. Rik is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts with a BFA in Acting. He loves his wife and kids very much. Member of AEA, SAG, TPS, IFP. Enjoy the show!
Kim Deskin (Titania) has an impressive list of acting credits, but she sappily lists as her favorite role, that of “wife to Rik and mother to Thomas, Lorrie, Richard, and William.” (p.s. Have fun at camp Lorrie! We miss you!) Kim is the Literary Manager for Green Theatre.
Ben Dunn (Puck) is thrilled to be playing a fairy... again! (He is starting to think that he is being type cast.) Thanks to the fantastic cast for making him look so good!
Lorrie Deskin (Peaseblossom) will be seen next in SPDV: Teen Sketch Comedy, Season 2. (see above) Green Theatre company member.
Jana Gueck (Cobweb) is a SENIOR at Redmond High School. Her acting credits are many, as her talent is endless. Oh, yeah, what was that little award last year? Jana is a featured player in SPDV: Teen Sketch Comedy, Season 2 and a new company member of Green Theatre.
Lynne Randall (Snout) is a resident member of Green Theatre Productions, and has performed in
The 24 Hour Plays and
SPDV: Teen Sketch Comedy. Other productions include
The Wizard of Oz,
Narnia,
Charlotte's Web,
The Phantom Tollbooth,
Crazy for You, and
You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Lynne has also taken classes at Taproot Theatre and Seattle Children's Theatre, takes private voice lessons, and qualified for the state's solo/ensemble competition in the high soprano category.
Thanks!
Ellen Heile (Moth) has been performing since she was eight, beginning with SPT's
Best Christmas Pageant Ever. When she enters 4th grade at John Hay in Seattle this fall, it will be a relief from her hard working summer vacation.
Nathan Heile (Changeling Boy) is enjoying his stage debut with this production. Nathan will enter 2nd grade at John Hay Elementary in Seattle. He enjoys sports, summer, family, reading, and playing computer games.
Adam Lindgren (Sprite), a student at Kirkland Junior High, has several fun musicals on his resume. With Taproot Theatre,
he played Mayor Shinn in
The Music Man, and in KJH’s recent
Once Upon a Mattress, Sir Harry was our Adam.
Richard Deskin (Sprite) will be entering fifth grade at AG Bell Elementary School this fall. Theatre is a family business for Richard, who most recently appeared in Redwood Theatre's production of
The Nerd.
William Deskin (Sprite), going into the third grade at AG Bell, is excited to be in his first professional theatre production. His hobbies include baseball, Game Boy, and cleaning his room (okay, not really that last one).
Amber “Josie” Rogers (Mustardseed) is thrilled to be in this production and names Kim as one of her favorite people ever. She also appreciates her family’s support as she makes her way to Broadway. Bernadette Peters, you rock!
Abby Crickmore (Fairy) is heading into Bellevue’s Chinook Middle School. She enjoys synchronized swimming, horseback riding, viola playing, reading, and writing.
Olivia Abouelheiga (Fairy) makes her professional acting debut in our chorus of fairies. She’s appeared in school and workshop productions, so clearly the “bug has bit.” No doubt this is the beginning of a long career.
Julia Abouelheiga (Fairy) also begins her career with Green Theatre Productions. Playing with the Big Fairies is sure to be the highlight of the summer.
