 A CONTEMPORARY THEATRE
JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:  Production Runner   

DEPARTMENT:  Production
REPORTING TO: Production Office Assistant
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time non-exempt; 20 hours per week.
WAGE RATE: $11.00 per hour
START DATE: June 1, 2010

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide assistance to ACT Production Department by making pick-ups, deliveries and returns for production shops.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Two years theatrical experience or Theatre Degree
Valid Washington State Driver’s License

SKILLS REQUIRED: 
Ability to prioritize tasks from multiple supervisors.
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Strong collaborator and supportive team member.
Ability to interact with the public in a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to lift, push, or maneuver up to 50 - 70 lbs. repeatedly either alone or with assistance from others.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
•   Pick-up, deliver or return ACT Theatre supplies, purchases, and rental equipment.
•   Manage a petty cash fund and reconcile receipts for shows and events.
•   Research and maintain technical specifications for show related materials.
•   Investigate availability and/or pricing of materials and items as requested by Production Supervisors.

Support Production Office Assistant with company-management duties, such as running errands for out-of-town artists, and procuring & delivering special equipment for their needs.

Perform other duties as assigned by Production Office Assistant.

COMPUTER SKILLS UTILIZED: Excel, Word and use of the Internet for research and purchasing.
