Double-Edge Inspired Training

Double Edge Theatre in Massachusetts has developed a unique,
ferocious, sweat-intensive training/improvisation/material channeling
method for creating their original, world-acclaimed theatre. The work
that they do has been describe as "transcendent" and also compared to
a "controlled hurricane." This class will function as a lab in which
we will explore some of the technique that the instructor learned
there through her two summers in residency with the company.

Taught by Alissa Mortenson. 2 night series - March 30 and April 3. $36
Regular, $29 TPS, $60 for two students when you sign up with a friend.

-Alissa Mortenson-
Alissa Mortenson is a founder and artistic director of Nebunele
Theatre, a 5-year-old, award-winning, collaborative ensemble physical
theatre company in Seattle. She is currently a performer with
Stimulate Dance, and has also performed locally with Annex Theatre,
Theater Schmeater, and Ear to the Ground, among other companies; she
has toured nationally and internationally with the International
Theatre Collective and Traveling Lantern Theatre. She worked with
Double Edge Theatre for two summers and collaborated with them in
their most recent sold-out summer spectacle, The Arabian Nights.
Alissa has taught acting, mask, and clown to students at Coyote
Central, the Northwest Chinese School, Youth Theatre Northwest, Second
Story Repertory, and Soundview School. She received her Professional
Performers' certification from the Dell'Arte International School of
Physical Theatre and her BA in drama from the University of
Washington.

More dates to be announced soon!
We have classes coming from Keira McDonald (LeCoq pedagogy), Paul
Budraitis (Biomechanics), and Jack Stocklynn (acrobatics).  Stay tuned
for details!
