I'm looking for an Audrey II for a production of Little Shop of Horrors at the end of April.  We had one in mind, but they are charging waaay too much for an old piece with poor construction, which we would have to fix up ourselves.  Don't get me wrong, we don't mind fixing one up, just not for the price they are asking.  I would make it myself for half of they are asking, but unfortunately there's no room to house it after the show is over.  I've been trying to ask all around town and am not getting much response.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

You might check with the Microsoft Theatre Troupe (not sure of the actual name). They did Little Shop last fall and had what looked like a pretty good Audrey II.

Not sure if you tried Capital Playhouse in Olympia. But they rent one:

You should definitely check with Ken Michels.  He created a lovely set  that he rents out often.  He also played the Audrey II manipulator professionally and he helps train whoever is doing it.  He is GREAT!!!

His email is: Ken Michels <Ken.A.Michels@noaa.gov>

I will give him a heads up.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you, Theresa.  I just heard about Ken this morning, but no one seemed to have his contact info.  I've sent him an e-mail.

Dave and Kristin, thank you too.  I've already checked with both and both are most likely not available.

If anyone else has other thoughts, please continue to let me know!  There's no guarantee that Ken won't already have his rented out (it is High School musical season).  Thanks!

We might have an idea of where there may be a full set of Audrey II's (all four puppets) available locally.
What price were you hoping to work at or stay under?
