Another "Thank You"
«

To Karen, Megan, Sam and all the volunteers,
Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity. Both actors and producers benefit so greatly from this event, which did not exist prior to TPS. I personally welcome the once-yearly format, which lets more people see and be seen since it doesn't get divided. It is great for established talent saying "remember me?" and it is
the best
place for new talent to get noticed.
With all the talk of theater in crisis, it is good to know we have TPS advocating for us all year long.
Humbly,
Kate Kraay

I had my audition today, and was able to pile some much-deserved compliments on dear Megan and the volunteers. Thanks again!

As somebody relatively new to town I also have to say how wonderfully things went. I know that a ton of time and effort went into the event, and feel that it was a great opportunity for everyone involved. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I had my audition yesterday and it was so wonderful. I loved the loud room, I didn't feel lame going about practicing, it was funny actually I tried at one point to talk to someone and I believe they thought I was doing a monologue and didn't answer. You couldn't really tell at times if people were talking to themselves or to others. Lots of fun. Very professional. Thank you so much!

I would also like to say thank you to all who helped put these on. I just moved from Chicago a little over a month ago and I must say that the TPS Generals are light years ahead of the Chicago generals in organization and professionalism. I dreaded doing the ITA generals there but these were so smooth I hardly felt like I was at a cattle-call. I actually enjoyed my two minutes of glory.

I agree with everyone. It was a very well run, smooth, fun and useful audition process! I have done gennerals in several cities and this one is top notch in comparison.
As both auditioner and auditor I felt things were clearly organized and I was supported with exactly what I needed to do my job well.
And the whole TPS team is so much fun to boot.
So thank you to all the staff and volunteers that made it happen.
And thank you to all the artists that obviously put passion and hard, hard work into their time at the auditions- on both sides of the lights.
Yea Everyone!

And yet another thank-you. This is my second year at the TPS Generals, and both experiences have been as painless as this kind of audition can ever be. There's never any question for the auditioner as to where they should be or what the procedure is, there are lots of friendly, smiling faces around, and the whole thing is handled professionally and efficiently.
I have to also add that I am glad for the change to annual, rather than twice-yearly, auditions, as there were many auditors there this year that were not at the winter auditions last year. It's nice not to have to agonize over which one to choose.
And many thanks to the auditors who actually gave me the laugh I was hoping for at the end of my piece; it's always painful to deliver what you think is a funny line into dead silence!

Yes, this was definitely the best TPS Generals experience I've had! I participated in Summer 2005 and 2006, and this was far more organized and painless, which was much appreciated. Much higher auditor turnout. Volunteers were very professional. And I second the nod for the loud room - it was nice to be caught in that cacophony.
(And thank you to the wonderful accompanist on Tuesday afternoon!)

I also had a good experience -- friendly volunteers who knew what they were doing, clear directions, lots of auditors.
Thank you, everyone!

I suggest sugar free lollipops next year as well...
I am very happy with the change to annual auditions but how badly I feel for the 40+ auditioners who couldn't make it due to illness. Get well!
Hooray for TPS!

Thank you for all the kind words. I am very pleased that so many of you had a good experience.
These auditions run on the backs of volunteers and this year, for the first time, these auditions were coordinated and run by Member Services coordinator Megan Smithling. As long as I stayed out of her hair everything went great! :-)
A huge thank you to both Sam and Megan and of course these stellar volunteers:
