or ANYTHING that will help absorb the noise of several happy, loud children at our Summer Camp!

We have a large multi-purpose room we use for part of our Camp, and with a tile floor and plaster walls the noise of kids playing (and being "dramatic") becomes deafening.

Any suggestions? Thoughts? Where does one purchase acoustic tiles? Is that even the correct term? Are they expensive? If I hang big thick fabric pieces around will that help? Rugs?

Really, ALL thoughts and suggestions are Welcome! Thank you in advance  Smiley

One thing that works well though it's not very esthetically pleasing are eggs cartons on the walls and ceiling. maybe the children can paint them ?

Rugs, blankets, anything that isn't hard and flat, to minimize the sound bouncing around.  Putting it on the floor, as well as along the wall, should help.  If you have old curtains for masking those would work great.  =)

Hey Maria,

I consulted my hubby who said that you can get acoustical tiles at Lowes, but it isn't cheap. He also mentioned that while egg cartons really will work wonders, since this is a summer camp, you should make sure that they aren't a fire hazard.

Hope you have a great summer.
