And here, unedited, unscreened are February 2006 actor general comments - thank you to all who help TPS stay on our toes by giving us feedback!

How did you feel about the way the auditions were handled?
•   everything was really well laid out and easy to find.
•   Very organized and efficient.  Would like to have had 1o seconds more however, got cut off just before the final note
•   very professionally, the monitor did a great job of explaining protocal and putting auditioners at ease.
•   Very professional.  I was pleased with the conduct all around.  The pianist was very skilled and cooperative, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
•   Done very well...like clock work.....smmmoooth
•   the auditions were great, everyone was friendly and helpful. the only problem i had was that the 2 minute time limit for non-equity felt really short. even 2 1/2 minutes would be much better... or a two-minute limit on the MONOLOGUE but no timing on the song since it's limited to 18 bars...
•   I was disappointed in the number of auditors in attendance Monday afternoon. This was my first as AEA member and it was very disappointing.
•   My experience was great - the staff and volunteers were very helpful and supportive.
•   I really appreciated the ease in which all went... from check-in to end of rehearsal.  Explainations from Michelle were helpful and accurate
•   They were very professional, great having two warm up rooms, felt the waiting time was a little long due to late running.
•   great. everyone was very helpful.
•   Very well, The women that, took us back and forth, from room to room was very calming and a pro.I'm embarrassed that her name escapes me.
•   The auditions ran very smoothly, however, just coming from a beefed up PATA audition, I was a little disappointed with the auditor turnout.  I'm glad I got a callback, but I would expect more equity houses on equity day at least.
•   Really well.  But very disappointed that almost half the listed auditors didn't show.
•   The auditions were handled well. The only thing is I would have liked to been told that the house lights would be on during the audition and that the theater was an amphitheater. When you're doing a monologue and you've placed the person your addressing above the audience it becomes a distraction if you're not prepared for the amphitheater.
•   Very well ~ each year I feel they become more organized.  The staff has always been very sweet, supportive and helpful.
•   i felt the audiions were handled very well and very professinally.
•   At this point you know exactly what to do and you do it quite well - it is a pleasure to come. The only problems are things you have no control over - how many auditors show up and how many theaters actually have union jobs to offer....
•   Very well. Given the fact that hundreds of actors audition within minutes of eachother, I thought everything ran very smoothly. The directions were clear for actors and the whole submiting resumes, warm up room stuff was clear aswell.
•   Always better than in any other city.
•   very nice
•   I was not greeted at the front entrance like last year.  This year I had to wander my way back, and just happened to see Sam and I checked in with him.  If any new people had the same experience, I'm sure it would have been nervewracking.
•   Everyone was very friendly and professional.
•   I felt everyone was professional and helpful.
•   Very organized.  I had absolutely no problem figuring out what to do.  The people were quite relaxed and friendly.
•   I have to say...I have been a professional actress for 25 years. I haven't done a general audition like this in more than 20 years. It's always a little like having your spleen removed, but I have to say, this was the most pleasant, well organized, friendly, well-attended, responsive general I can imagine attending. I thank you for that. What I expected and what I experienced were polar opposites. Your thoroughness and thoughtfulness are appreciated.
•   Once we got in, it was fine.  There was no one there at 9:30 to greet the auditioners.  I didn't see the survey to fill out and it wasn't mentioned during my check in.  Maybe that's why no one filled it out.  Folks weren't told.
•   Extremely professional and friendly.
•   Very professional and helpful. My only regret is that not enough auditors were present when I performed my monologue at 11:15 AM. It seemed like only 20 people of the 33 I was told would be there, were present.
•   i feel they were organized and handled very well.
•   The auditions were very organized. I felt very taken care of and confident that I would get to my audition on time.
•   It was very professional and courteous.
•   Very professional.  And very welcoming.  I felt like I could ask questions and not be stared at like i was an idiot.  It was scary, but a wonderful experience.  I'll be back again next year.
•   I thought the process ran smoothly and professionally. I didn't feel two minutes was enough time alloted in which to present to contrasting pieces and felt somewhat rushed in that respect. Otherwise, it was a positive experience on the whole.
•   They were handled very well - very efficient, professional, friendly. A+
•   I think that the PATA auditions which I went to just before the TPS auditions were better organized, and allowed me to better demonstrate my capabilities.  Sorry, but as as TPS member, I think PATA did a much better job.
•   I felt that they were very clean. The choice of silent or loud rooms really was a thoughtful step for the actors to prepare. The directions were concise and light enough not to distract with unnecassary details. The two things I feel would have been helpful was a more specific number of headshots/resumes (it changed by the time I arrived) and perhaps letting the actors, especially from out of town, know that the building is located inside of the mall. I met with a few other actors who had difficulty locating the actual area in the building, and the information booth of the mall was misleading. Besides that, everything was a refreshing experience, stress free and thoughtful. Thank you for that, I felt spoiled.
•   Friendly, helpful as we had not been to the center for a long time and were lost.
•   EXTREMELY well-handled. One of the best auditions experiences ever
•   Professional & organized
•   I thought they were handled professionally and calmly.  None of those in charge were running around frantically which causes nervousness in waiting actors.  It was a peaceful as possible, a wonderful environment to wait nervously in!
•   I thought the auditions were handled beautifully.  I had an extremely satisfying experience and applaud the way it was all handled because we all know how grueling and nerve-racking auditions can be, and I experienced none of that (except maybe some nerves, but that's natural!)
•   All was grand.
•   everyone was so pleasant--i really felt like it was a day about making the auditioning actors at ease, not about pushing people through.
•   Very well - everyone is so pleasant and calm - it really helps you relax to do your job. It's fabulous to have the loud and quiet warm up rooms instead of having to wait, twitching, in some lobby space or try to stay warm in the bathroom! Thanks for having rehearsal blocks as well as chairs in there, too.    I do wish there wasn't an 18 bar limit on the music - that can be extremely quick (less than 30 secs) or slow (more than a minute) depending on the time signature of your song. It would be better if that were a guideline and it was the auditioner's responsibility to make sure it fit in the time allotted.    Thank you!
•   Very professional. I felt comfortable and thought everything went very smooth. I do think the 2 minutes is a bit short for non-union, but rules are rules....
•   It's always very well organized and competently run.
•   They were smooth - - and I appreciated that the auditons were on time; everyone was helpful and freindly too.
•   Very good organization. A little cold in the warm up rooms. A little sparse on attendance of Auditors.
•   Fine.    Given the very low AEA auditor participation, I find myself wondering if the TPS auditions are counter-productive for AEA members.  Maybe we would be better off if we could audition at the individual theatres and actually develop a relationship with the producing entity.
•   Very professional, the moderator was very encouraging and kind.  I would have loved to have the 'audience lights' off during the audition.
•   Very smoothly, friendly, and professionally.
•   I auditioned late in the day on 2/13. I found the staff not to be as informative as the first time I attended. If I didn't already know what to expect, I wouldn't have know what to do.
•   They were well organized and executed.  As an AEA actor, I was very disappointed that two of the largest companies who had signed up to audit failed to show up on the only AEA day.
•   They were pretty well run and professional.  They were running a bit behind at the time of my audition, but that is to be expected---and they seem to get back on track pretty quickly.
•   Great. I have also partisipated in the New York URTA auditions and I feel that TPS is on par with that standard.
•   I thought the auditions were run extrememely efficiently and professionally! The audition monitor made it comfortable and fun and it was nice to be around other actors who were just as nervous. It was comfortable and calm!
•   Felt all bases were covered...was treated  considerately and professionally...  I especially appreciated all the details  beforehand (indications of how to enter the theater...how to introduce my monologue/song...etc. It all helped to put  me at ease (as much ease as you can be in   an audition situation) and allow me to  be relaxed and enjoy the experience. I really had a great time.
•   It was fine.
•   very smooth, upbeat, well-organized. floyd and michelle were great
•   I felt taken care of, professionally handled, and thought they were smooth and painless
•   Very well done.
•   Very professional.  I'm glad the TPS staff treated us all with respect as opposed to treating us like cattle as many group auditions often feel.
•   It was a very positive experience
•   I thought they were beautifully handled. The staff and volunteers were GREAT. It's a very smooth, efficient, and effective process.
•   they were handled professionally and comapssionately. I stress the compassion because I hadn't done a 'real audition' anywhere in over 20 years and was fairly terrified. The manner in which the auditions were conducted repsected each person's preparation needs and questions were answered in a non-condescending manner!
•   Very professional.
•   great! organized. i loved that there was food when i got there as my audition was in the morning and didn't have time to eat breakfast.
•   Very professional.
•   Very professional and well executed.
•   the auditions were handled very well, however the theatre was difficult to find as i'd never been there before, and no one in the building was able to give me adequate directions to the 'Center Theatre', for some reason. they kept directing me to other places.  i finally made it to the TPS office on the 4th floor which had a sign in the door saying that the auditions were 'downstairs'.  not very specific. that was the only frustrating part of the experience.
•   Everything was fine.
•   Excellent.  Professional, timely, clear expectations, calm manner.  Thank you!
•   Very professionally.  Everyone 'running the show' seemed confident and comfortable with their respective roles, facilitating an environment in which the auditioners could perform their best.
•   very professional
•   I felt they were handled in a very professional and organized fashion. I think perhaps TPS could have made a harder 'sell' on membership to the auditioners; some of the greeters were doggedly persistent in catching auditioners on the way out; others just let people slip by too easily.
•   gOOD
•   It made me feel comfortable.
•   I thought it was very well organized. Everyone helping was helpful and professional. The process went as smooth as I could expect it to.
•   Great.
•   Overall I thought it was a very effecient and smooth experience. I never felt 'lost' or like I didn't know where to be/what to do.
•   I felt that they were very time-efficient and handled well.
•   Excellent. Quiet room auditor helpful and friendly. Smooth running organization.
•   I felt that the auditions were handled very well and very organized. I had clear directions for what was needed and what came next. The young lady that was bringing people from the loud/quiet rooms to the audition point was very organized and had a wonderful attitude. She was extremely helpful in answering questions and directing people. She did a great job! Thanks for making it a lot less stressful to audition.
•   I appreciate the cheerfulness of all the staff that checked us in. I felt absolutely stupid for having misunderstood the 2 min time restraint and used up the time on one monologue. I knew better. I did the audition last year. I was so surprised at being handed back my music without singing I forgot to say thank you to anyone. So thank you all for holding the auditions and providing an opportunity for everyone to participate.
•   The greeters were friendly and informative. It was nice to have a choice of a quiet or louder room to chill out in. The space was comfortable to work in and the accompanist was professional and did a great job. It was a very nice experience, and I am not a person who loves the audition process. I love to act.....but am still nervous auditioning even after many years. I am very glad that I made the trip up from California to introduce myself to some new theatres and to have a chance to visit Seattle as well. (and of course to see my friend Greg)
•   It was handled in a very efficient and professional manner.
•   very well handled. My audition time was within 2 minutes of the time i was given.
•   Very professional and always friendly.
•   Just fine.  More time would be nice, but I know that's probably not going to happen!  Shocked)
•   handled extremely well. staff was friendly and helpful.    would like info on headshots that weren't used, though.
•   Very professional, however, I would suggest that the check-in time for actors be no more than 30 minutes from their performance time.  The only part that was not great was the 50 minute wait I had prior to my time.  Other than that, an enjoyable experience with very nice people.
•   Well done
•   You guys are wonderful, as always!  The new woman who coordinated the auditioners (I forget her name) had a great attitude.  The only change that might be nice for future auditions would be to have some set times in which you open the space up for auditioners to get an idea of the space, lighting etc. prior to each round of auditions.  Thanks!
•   Instructions were clear.  People were personable and friendly.  Warm-up room was quiet.  No complaints at all.
•   It was great!
•   I thought the volunteers did a great job.  Much Kudos to them.  I had problems that unlike in previous years I was unable to rehearse with the accompanist.  I realize it is a lot to ask the volunteer pianist to do, but it has helped me in the past.  And I did not perform my best this time due to it.
•   Very clear communication with the auditionees.
•   professionally - they had good volunteers
•   I thought they were handled very well. We recieved clear concise instructions both before and during the audition process.
•   I thought it was very professional and everything moved along very smoothly.  The instructions that were sent to me were very accurate so there weren't any surprises before my audition.  It was great!
•   The auditions ran smoothly.  I wish there was more of an immediate response.
•   Great!  Very well run.
•   everyone was very professional and courteous.
•   Very smoothly
•   It was good.
•   I liked them becuase the were somewhat formal, yet informal enough to make me feel a bit more comfortable.
•   They were great!  The seperate rooms were wonderful. The space was great.  I recognize the need for speed which placed us in the hall right before we entered. It would be great to be in a place where we felt like we could make small -quiet- hums etc (singing audition). No need for big noise at that point. Small thing.  I loved the facility, volunteers were wonderful.  Thank you!
•   My perspective is perhaps unique in that I had just done the UPTA's in Memphis the week before.   I think TPS' organization and overall logistics were on par. The feel was very different. It might have had something to do with the number of people at the audition or the setting... I'm not sure. But in terms of vibe, feel, mood... it was very different.
