Artist Trustís GAP (Grants for Artist Projects) Application Deadline Approaches!
Individual artists who reside in Washington State are encouraged to apply to the 2006 GAP (Grants for Artist Projects) Program. Artist Trustís GAP Program provides support for individual artist projects by awarding up to $1,400 for projects including (but not limited to) the development, completion or presentation of new work. Last year 698 artists applied to the GAP Program and 58 artists from around the State received $76,331 in total.
The GAP Program is open to artists working in ALL creative disciplines including visual, performing, literary, media and emerging and cross-disciplinary arts. Applicants must be residents of Washington State but cannot be a graduate or undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program. 2004 and 2005 GAP recipients are not eligible.
A multidisciplinary peer review panel of artists and art professionals from across Washington State selects GAP recipients. The panelís selections are based foremost on the artistic excellence of an artistís work as represented in their application.
