Seattle Musical Theatre, Seattle's longest-running musical theatre company, is looking for technical support for the final show of our 39th season, the Cole Porter classic, KISS ME KATE! The show runs from April 7th- April 30th, 2017; Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm, Sundays @ 2pm, with a special Thursday night performance on April 27th @ 7:30pm.

SMT is looking to fill the following opportunities:

- Stage Crew
- Light Board Operator
- Costume Run Crew
- Follow Spot Operator

All roles with SMT are offered a competitive honorarium for their services following the completion of the run. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with and get to know fellow theatre artists in the area, as well as build skills and develop your professional portfolio. And, if you have ever wanted to be a part of a theatrical production, we give people the opportunity to learn about the theatre by being a part of our company, so don't hesitate to say hello!

Seattle Musical Theatre, Seattle's longest-running musical theatre company, is looking for Costume Construction support for the final show of our 39th season, KISS ME KATE!

We are looking for people to come on board the last two weeks of March (20th-31st), ideally for about 10 hours a week. Those individuals selected can work remotely or onsite at SMT, but would need to be able to meet with our Costume Designer at least once a week to take things home to work on. Ideal candidates would have costume construction experience, either professionally or in a university setting; however, those with interest, energy, and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply. Ideally between 3-5+ years of overall sewing experience would be great! SMT does offer a competitive honorarium (i.e. stipend), for these roles. Additional opportunities to earn compensation are also available for those who would want to work the run of the show as well!

Seattle Musical Theatre, now in its 39th season of producing high-quality musical theatre, is in need of an Assistant Stage Manager for our upcoming production of LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL!

The production opens on February 17th and runs until March 12th. Rehearsals are currently on Monday-Thursday evening, as well as on Sunday afternoons. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings @ 7:30pm, Sundays @ 2pm, as well as a special Thursday evening performance on 4/9 @ 7:30pm. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned artist, as well as someone who wants to learn more about production and be very hands-on in the process. SMT does offer an honorarium for this opportunity!

Seattle Musical Theatre, now in its 39th season of producing high-quality musical theatre, is in need of a Master Electrician to assist us with our lighting design for our upcoming production of LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL.

This team member will work with our Lighting Designer to realize the concepts and practical aspects needed to light the show. The production opens on February 17th; with lighting calls beginning some time within the next few weeks. Scheduling allows for flexibility, as well as offering an honorarium for their support.

Seattle Musical Theatre, Seattle's longest-standing, all- musical theatre company, is looking for a Choreographer and Stage Manager to join our production team for the 4th show of our 39th season- KISS ME KATE!

The production will run from April 7th through April 30th (Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm, Sundays @ 2pm, with a special Thursday performance on April 27th @ 7:30pm). Rehearsals will begin in early March, 2017. Rehearsals generally run Mondays-Thursdays in the evening, with daytime rehearsals on Saturdays. Rehearsals will take place at our performance space in Magnuson Park, as well as an alternate space elsewhere in the park. The final production schedule will be determined based on the schedule availability of those who end up joining the production team. Both of these roles are allotted an honorarium following the end of the run.

Seattle Musical Theatre, Seattle's longest-running, all-musical theatre company, is seeking a follow spot operator and a stagehand for our upcoming production of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET!

The production runs from October 28th- November 20th, 2016 at SMT's facility in beautiful Magnuson Park. Performances are on Friday and Saturday nights @ 7:30pm, Sundays @ 2pm, and a special Thursday night performance on November 17th @ 7:30pm.

Tech rehearsals begin this weekend (Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd), with tech throughout the following week; leading to Opening Night on 10/28. Technicians will receive an honorarium for their services, payable the end of the production process.

Seattle Musical Theatre, Seattle's longest-running, all-musical theatre company, is seeking a scenic builder for our upcoming production of SWEENEY TODD! The role requires basic carpentry and scenic experience, a can-do attitude, a desire to be creative, and the ability to collaborate and work with a group of dedicated and hard-working artists. There is pay for this opportunity and is commiserate upon background, experience, and availability. The hours are fairly flexible and the gig will occur over the next two to two and a half weeks. This can lead to further opportunities within the company, if desired and able.

Based on Studs Terkelís 1978 best-selling book of interviews with American workers, Working paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted; from iron workers to flight attendants to waitresses, and more. The humorous and heartwarming stories the workers tell are the core truths that transcend specific professions; the key is how peopleís relationships to their work ultimately reveal key aspects of their humanity.

Come to our box office this evening before our 7:30pm performance, mention the phrase "Mother Trucker", and you'll get $20 tickets to the show!

Seattle Musical Theatre is seeking a Sound Designer/ Engineer for the first show of its 39th season- WORKING!

The show will run September 9th- October 2nd, 2016, at SMT's theatre in Magnuson Park. This is a contracted position, which offers a competitive stipend/ honorarium to off-set costs involved in collaborating with us; one for design and one for the engineering of the show during the run.
