SCT Education Programs will offer over 20 internships in Summer 2018 to support our 200 camps, classes and performance programs for students ages 3.5-21. We are seeking a Drama School Intern to assist on summer camps and classes and a Music Direction Intern for  Seussical Jr and Rent School Edition. Minimum 2 years of college or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. (Non-stipend assistant positions available to those with less experience.) Provides managerial and administrative support to two Professional Development Programs that SCT does in consortium with other arts organizations. Provides additional administrative support to the Managing Director and Artistic Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
•   Direct, manage and administer Bringing Theatre into the Classroom, a consortium of four arts partners (currently, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Seattle Repertory Theatre).
•   Administer and host the Washington State Teaching Artist Training Lab, a seven-month professional development program taught and produced as a partnership between arts organizations.
•   Provide administrative support to the Managing and Artistic Directors. Responsibilities include customer service, communication, schedule and database management, and general administrative support
•   Other Education program duties as assigned, which might include teaching artistry, administration, educational intern program, and developing new projects.
•   Represent Education Programs where necessary—public and private events, meetings—acting as an advocate for Education Programs and SCT goals as articulated in the SCT mission statement.
•   Advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and social justice within SCT and the community through existing education programs, as well as new initiatives as assigned.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
•   Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of four years arts administration experience
•   Experience in managing Professional Development programs for teachers and teaching artists
•   Experience hiring and managing Teaching Artists
•   Database experience; Tessitura especially helpful
•   Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
•   Strong written and verbal communication skills
•   Ability to manage and direct multiple tasks concurrently, and provide follow through
•   Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and patient with customer service skills
•   Must be an independent thinker and doer while being collaborative; effective team player

Salary & Schedule:
•   Salary is $16.50 p/h
•   Generous benefits package which includes fully paid employee medical, dental and vision care.
•   Some weekend and evening hours are necessary.

SCT Education Programs offers morning and afternoon extended care for families who need to drop-off or pick-up their students earlier or later than the class time. Extended care participants range in age from 4-17. The Extended Care Supervisor is responsible for checking-in and checking-out students, collecting paperwork from families, and providing attentive care to the group of students. The supervisor is supported by an intern who helps engage students in games, conversation or suggests age-appropriate independent activities.

Morning Care Supervisor
June 12th – August 31st  (No July 3rd or 4th)
Monday-Friday 7:45am - 9:30am

We will consider applicants with partial availability (6 week minimum preferred).

Qualifications: You must be 18 years or older to apply. Two years of college or two years of equivalent work experience. Highly organized and patient with strong customer service skills. Experience working with youth a must.

Compensation: $13/hour until June 26th when the rate will rise to $14/hour.

The Assistants aid Instructors in teaching age appropriate, creative drama based camp programs to children ages 5-7. Discoveries Day Camps are designed to promote awareness, respect and caring for wildlife and conservation, while engaging children in a creative drama adventure, age-appropriate activities, games, crafts and zoo tours. At least two years creative drama/theatre experience required. Experience can be derived through improvisational acting and or teaching creative drama, not through attending theatre.

We are looking for someone with the administrative skill to manage complex projects and a deep commitment to theatre, education and SCT’s mission of reaching all the people in our community. We are now accepting applications for the sixth year of the WASHINGTON STATE TEACHING ARTIST TRAINING LAB, an eight-month professional development program for teaching artists working in all artistic disciplines and in all regions across Washington State. TAT Lab focuses on arts education in K-12 public schools, working to ensure all students receive high quality arts education as part of basic education. Application deadline is July 11, 2016.

TAT Lab is intended to support mid-career teaching artists as well as those newer to the field.

The program runs September 2016 to April 2017 and includes:
• Three in-person training sessions lasting 2-3 days and held in Seattle (at Seattle Center)
• Five 90-minute teleconferences facilitated by a teaching artist mentor
• Ongoing, individualized support from mentors and peers
Core Focus & Key Topics:
• Learn about best practices in arts education
• Develop strong and effective learning plans
• Learn how to collaborate with K-12 teachers and use state standards to support your work
• Connect with a community of dedicated teaching artists
• Gain skills to assess student learning in the arts
• Understand the role of social justice within the world of arts education

This is a tuition-based program ($600); scholarships are available, as well as travel support for teaching artists from outside King County. TAT Lab seeks a cohort with geographic, gender, racial/ethnic, and artistic diversity; teaching artists outside the Puget Sound region and teaching artists of color are encouraged to apply.

This program is geared to students in grades 1-4 who spend half of their day exploring science topics at Pacific Science Center, and the other half on a creative drama adventure with their SCT Teaching Artist.
