11  TPS Message Boards (requires ID & Password to post) / Classes & Workshops / TPS February Auditions on: January 08, 2008, 01:06:56 PM
Private coaching and monologue selection assistance is being offered by Charles Waxberg, Artistic Director of Theatre 9/12 and formerly founding Artistic Director/Consultant of Balagan Theatre

Charles was one of the last teachers trained by Stella Adler, and at her side for the last five years of her teaching in NYC.  He has taught for the Roundabout Theatre Company, New York and Carnegie-Mellon Universities, and Stella Adler Conservatories on both coasts.  For his full bio: http://theatre912.com/Bio.htm

Having attended all 3 days of the last three TPS generals, he has a sense of what works and intrigues casting directors and what does not.  Coaching is specific, tangible, and inspiring without being personally invasive or "mysterious."  For more info on the technique:  http://theatre912.com/Technique.htm

Location is Downtown/Capitol Hill/First Hill--Pike and Terry near Convention Center. Fees are adjusted to the actor's resources.

12  TPS Message Boards (requires ID & Password to post) / Employment / THEATRE INSTUCTORS NEEDED on: August 25, 2007, 10:21:50 AM
BALAGAN THEATRE, an award-winning consistently well-reviewed company after only one season, will be opening a professional actors’ studio this Fall/Winter at their new location in Capitol Hill.  The small, selective studio will be built for working professionals and serious actors already committed to the craft and art.  Headed by artistic director Charles S. Waxberg, a NYC and LA coach for 27 years and author of The Actors Script—Script Analysis for Performers currently in its 8th printing, his experience includes: having created and headed the Roundabout Theatre Conservatory, Creative Director and instructor for the Stella Adler conservatories on both coasts—at Miss Adler’s side during the last five years of her East Coast teaching—and teaching for New York and Carnegie-Mellon Universities.

We are looking for part-time instructors with specialties in:
   Acting Technique
   Improvisation
   Vocal Production and Speech
   Movement for Actors

The studio will emphasize the later teachings of Stanislavsky where imagination and the physical embodiment of action in the playwright’s world is paramount.  His earlier, abandoned experiments with affective and sense memory will not be used.  We are looking for clear, specific instruction by those who can collaborate with this focus, and help develop a unique actors studio in Seattle.

Interested artists may address their inquiries or applications to:
