Inspired by actual events, "Arrivals" is a love story that unfolds against the backdrop of early 1900s Seattle when Jewish immigrants from the vastly different worlds of Turkey, Russia and Germany first encountered each other in pursuit of their American dreams. The Seattle Jewish Theater Company is a touring company that performs at venues throughout the Seattle area. "Arrivals" will be performed at Seattle area venues in late March and in April. Rehearsals will be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 6:15 – 9:00 and some Sunday afternoons 12:30 – 2:00 from January 26 – March 19. North Seattle location. There is some flexibility and not every cast member will need to be at every rehearsal. Please let us know any conflicts with the schedule when scheduling an audition.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Marco Cordova: Male 20’s-30’s
An immigrant from Turkey who has come to America to make his fortune.
Albert Tarika: Male 20’s-30’s
He is also an immigrant from Turkey. Marco’s cousin, he has come along for the adventure.
Hershel Kaplan: Male 20’s-30’s
Works as a store clerk but has dreams of more.
Bernard Moses: Male 20’s-30’s
An ambitious lawyer at a prestigious Seattle law firm. He is courting Anna Gottesman.
Anna Gottesman: Female 19-22
A recent graduate of Vassar College, she is active in the suffrage movement for women’s right to vote.
Abe Moscowitz: Male 40’s-60’s
Originally from Russia, he has lived in America for many years. A tough man with a good heart, he owns a dry goods store on the Seattle waterfront.
Rose Moscowitz: Female 40’s-50’s
Abe’s wife, she has sharp, entrepreneurial instincts and is the brains of the family business.
Bayla Keigelman: Female 16-18
Abe’s niece. Orphaned in Russia, she has come to live with Abe and Rose and works in their store. She suffers from what today would be called PTSD.
Rabbi Gold: Male 40’s-60’s
Rabbi of an Orthodox congregation in Seattle.
Charles Winthrop: Male 40’s-60’s
A Seattle businessman, he is determined to enrich the city and himself.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Sides will be sent in advance upon appointment.
