Character Breakdown / Project Needs
We STRONGLY encourage actors of ALL colors and ethnicities to audition for any role that interests you.

ROSEMARY (female), plays 60s): A first-time grandmother, anxious about her grandson’s first Christmas morning and cranky about traveling. Somewhat conservative with strong opinions about everything, she has very traditional ideas about the holidays and nostalgia for “the way things used to be.”

LAUREL (female plays 18-22 years): Girlfriend to AMANDA. Her family is very conservative, and she struggles with being the daughter they expect versus the new person she is becoming in her first year away at collage. Nervous, conflicted, and sincere, with a quiet strength and thoughtful nature that balances out her girlfriend’s louder personality.

GEMMA (female plays 8-10 years): The youngest sister of LIZZIE and ELEANOR, daughter of BEN and NICOLE. A spunky, cheerful girl who loves animals (cats in particular) and often gets into trouble through her playful curiosity.

MAYA (female plays 13-15 years): Older sister to HARRISON. A responsible young person trying to keep things together while dealing with the fallout of her parents’ recent divorce. She is stressed out, emotionally guarded, and fiercely protective of her brother.

OWEN (male plays 13-15 years): Older brother to FRANCES. Quiet and slightly bookish/nerdy, with a strong sense of duty in looking after his sister. His parents’ divorce has given him a jaded, cynical streak, tempered with a bit of aloof kindness.

FRANCES (female plays 8-10 years): Younger sister to OWEN. A sweet and sensitive girl who always tries to make the best of things, approaching life’s challenges with enthusiasm and wonder. She sometimes tries to draw her older brother out of his introvert shell.
