This script, written by local playwrights Tamara Keeton and Katherine M. Kelly is inspired by the true story of the heroic women pilots who formed the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS) during World War II. This play tells the tale of an elite squadron of women pilots who battle prejudice, betrayal, sabotage and personal loss to prove they belong in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Their story is one of love, duty, sacrifice, and the perseverance of the human spirit.
This piece is set against the backdrop of America at war in the 1940s, it is a woman’s story that features a love of flying, a love of country and the sacred bond of friendship. The Originals is a poetic retelling of a history that has been all but forgotten, based on and inspired by the real events, real women and the real history that they made.
***We will perform this piece at the Olympic Flight Museum on OCTOBER 26th, 2019
And other dates TBD
