We Go Mad is a new play by Amy Escobar (Scary Mary and the Nightmares Nine) developed and produced with support from Artist Trust and the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture.
The play is a haunted house tale the draws from gothic romance novels, 70s horror and ghost stories to unravel inheritance, ancestral trauma, and shapes that shift and live on and on.
Puppetry techniques including shadow play, modified bunraku and object manipulation build the atmospheric world of the play as we follow our protagonist through her mother’s house of madness and her father’s house of bones.
