After Onyx opens up to Milo & says ‘I love you’, Milo must deal with their fear of intimacy and vulnerability. Through the support & encouragement of Milo’s friend, Sun, they are ultimately able to let go of some of their fear and open up to love.
Please note that we are looking to work with actors who have experience acting for film.
This short film is produced as part of the Blanket Fort Films Motion Picture Class of 2019. The final product will be screened as part of the festival/showcase in June and other opportunities. We are happy to offer meals, reel footage, and IMDb credit for your work.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Actors are welcome to submit for the roles that best fit them. Trans, non-binary, and actors of color are especially encouraged to audition.
MILO. LEAD. TRANS MASCULINE (they/them). AGE: 25-40
Recently out of an abusive relationship and working through issues around vulnerability and intimacy. Shy & closed off, can come off as defensive, but is really just fearful of being hurt again.
SUN. LEAD. GENDER NON-CONFORMING (they/them). AGE: 25-40
Milo’s good friend and roommate. Witty and confident, positive and upbeat. Never afraid to say what they really think. Pushes Milo to overcome their fears.
ONYX. SUPPORTING. NON-BINARY (they/them). AGE: 25-40
Milo’s supportive and understanding partner. Witchy, healer type. Loves community, parties, and facilitating workshops and get-togethers. Has tons of friends. Very secure in their sense of self and what they need and want from life.
MILO’S EX. SUPPORTING. NON-BINARY/TRANS/GENDER NON-CONFORMING. AGE 25-40: Abusive partner, unaware of the harm they cause to others.
