[title of show] is a fun, fast-paced musical about two guys who decide to write a musical about two guys writing a musical. They plan to submit their musical to a festival in just three weeks and to accomplish that, they convince two of their gal pals and a loyal piano playing buddy to join them. Together, through the joy of collaboration, they create a love letter to the musical theatre. This is a high-energy musical, which feels very loose and almost improvised.

Performances will be May 31-June 16, Friday and Saturday shows at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm.

Other details:
We are located in the same shopping center as Goodwill, but our entrance is around back, behind the cosmetology school.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
All roles are open, and Red Curtain welcomes non-traditional casting, including gender-blind and color conscious casting when permitted by the playwright/publisher.

*Jeff: Jeff is the show's composer, a Broadway enthusiast who especially likes obscure musicals and collects
Playbills from shows that ran 50 shows or less; loves bird watching, computer games and comic book
heroes, especially Wonder Woman; a realist; while he has a great passion for creating, he worries about
what others will think of his work.
Vocal Range: G below middle C - top B. Baritonish.

Hunter writes the book for the musical; dreams about making it to Broadway and one day winning a
Tony Award; enjoys watching trashy reality television and 1980’s mega musicals; gets sweaty under his
left armpit when nervous, and is often a little too eager to please.
Vocal Range: G below middle C - top B. Also baritonish.

Heidi is an actress, and out of the four friends has the most Broadway experience (featuring in a number
of ensembles and understudying lead roles); the ‘new girl’ of the group, having only worked with Jeff
previously; dreams of one day originating a role on Broadway, but because of her commitments with an
upcoming production she finds it hard to fully commit to the musical, causing tension in the group.
Vocal Range: F below middle C - top G (above stave). A soprano with a bit of belt.

Susan is quirky and kooky; a ‘Down Town’ artist who portrays the reality for many in the performing arts
industry, maintaining a day job to support her artistic endeavors; enjoys turkey burgers, encouraging
others to achieve their creative potential (aka killing vampires) and spending time with her friends
Hunter and Jeff; has some doubts about her singing ability and is at first reluctant about being friends
with the new girl, Heidi.
Vocal Range: F below middle C - top G (above stave). A mezzo with a belt

All characters should appear to be in the same general age range, somewhere between 25 and 40.
