Off Road Shakespeare Company seeks 8-10 humans of any age, gender. race, ability, and experience for a touring production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night directed by Leah Adcock-Starr
Off Road Shakespeare Co makes live theatre productions built to travel off the beaten path. We believe that access to brave and beautiful theatre productions must not be determined or limited by income, zip code, housing status, education, or demographic. This winter ORS will tour Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night to Seattle area shelters, public libraries, transitional housing communities, youth homes, senior living facilities, and community centers from March 15th - April 14th of 2019.
ORS strives to be a useful and beautiful part of the communities we tour to and engage with; one way this shows up in our process is our commitment to giving our time as volunteers and partners to each community that will see our production. This offering is an essential aspect of our play making, and that means that every Off Road actor will be scheduled for volunteer service hours each week alongside rehearsals during our production process.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
VIOLA - A survivor. A romantic. Grieving. The play’s heart AND the play’s brain. A golden tongued truth teller. Revealed by disguise. Sebastian's twin.
SEBASTIAN - A survivor. Grieving. Self effacing, intelligent, and irresistable. ‘Like Orion on a dolphin’s back’ Sebastian rises, and rises again. Viola’s twin.
ORSINO - Has a heart and soul made of music, and the right partner would make exquisite harmonies. Right now, Orsino is playing solo in a minor key. The powerful and monied Duke of Illyria.
OLIVIA - An unmarried heiress. Grieving. A force of nature not easily pulled off course and stunned when the tide is turned. When in love; more hot mess than seductress but ultimately undeniable. Knows it.
SIR TOBY - A reveler and a rogue with a plan. Not without an edge. Loves Maria. Olivia's family.
SIR ANDREW - A clown who longs to be the hero. Imagines a life as the romantic lead in everyone’s story but is more likely to play the fool. Toby’s friend. Olivia's would-be lover.
MARIA - A wicked wit and playful partner in Toby’s crimes. More mischief than malice. Nobody's fool - too busy making a fool of everyone else. Loves Toby. Oliva’s maid.
ANTONIO - A knight in shining armor. Driven by love and loyalty, though not necessarily by law. A pirate and lover. Adores Sebastian. Unwelcome in Illyria.
MALVOLIO - A faithful and obedient servant, who yearns for more than has ever been revealed. Passionately puritanical and driven by hidden desires. Olivia's steward.
FESTE - The riddling truth teller and urgent storyteller. Feste knows the trick. A boundary crosser; Feste is Illyria’s magician, a counselor, historian, musician, and co-conspirator. Olivia’s itinerant fool.
