HEARTS: Health & Arts, in collaboration with Admiral UCC and Providence Mt. Saint Vincent, will present two Staged Readings of "Nightingale: A Musical Regarding the Life and Passion of Miss Florence Nightingale" by Pamela Gerke, Sundays, September 23 & 30, 3-5pm, in West Seattle. There is one last rehearsal (of 3) in West Seattle: Sunday, 2-5pm, Sept. 16.
"Nightingale" brings Florence Nightingale’s story to life in a musical play that makes her image relevant for modern audiences. In celebration of Nightingale's 200th Birthday, HEARTS will take this musical to nursing schools, conferences and organizations, healthcare institutions, and other venues in the Puget Sound area in 2019 & 2020.
Non-traditional casting. This role can be played by a woman if she can sing as low as a C below middle C. Actor must be able to read music well and learn quickly as this is a last minute replacement.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
TENOR (or Baritone who can sing up to a D above middle C.
William Edward Shore Nightingale (WEN) – Florence’s father, ages 40’s-50’s.
Dr. John Hall - Inspector-General of British Expeditionary Forces, ages 60’s.
ASAP - this week, Sept. 10 -15.
