Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden); and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side." Drawing from various theatrical traditions, Godspell is a unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love - which makes for great storytelling.  The central theme of the show is about building community.

We will be implementing gender-conscious casting for this production. All roles are open to anyone. Also, since the setting for Godspell is open to the interpretation of the director, our show will be set in an LGBTQ+ environment. POC and LGBTQ+ folx are encouraged to apply.

This is a tuition-based student production. Ages 13-20, younger or older with permission.
