Showtunes is seeking to bring a fresh voice to an old favorite. We will present a non-traditional version of Legally Blonde which will include casting roles from an ethnic and color-conscious perspective. Our concert of Legally Blonde will feature a team of four dancers. We're looking for dancers who are strong technically who are also great storytellers. People wishing to be considered for the dance team should indicate so in their submission.

Faith Bennett Russell is directing with Music Director Nathan Young and Jimmy Shields as Choreographer.

Showtunes concert productions involve a short and intense rehearsal and performance timeframe, and strong singers/actors are required. Actors must be available for all rehearsals and performances. Showtunes is based in Seattle, WA and casts locally.

Rehearsal timeframes are September 9th: 4-8pm; 11-14th: 6-10pm; 15-16th 4-9pm; 18-20th 6-10pm; 21st: 4-11pm; 22nd: 1-5pm at the Cornish Playhouse facility.

Performances: Saturday, September 22nd 8pm, Sunday, September 23rd 2pm, Saturday, September 29th 8pm, Sunday, September 30th 2pm. TBD Performances: Friday, September 28th 8pm & Sunday, September 29th 2pm.

Emmett Forrest
A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly.
Gender: Male
Age: 20 to 25

Paulette
A brash, caring, optimistic hair stylist who is friends with Elle and longs to find a man for herself.
Gender: Female
Age: 35 to 45

Professor Callahan
A pompous, sleezy and manipulative law professor at Harvard who is highly successful, but completely immoral.
Gender: Male
Age: 45 to 55

Warner Huntington III
A good-looking but shallow and pompous guy who breaks Elle's heart and heads off to Harvard Law.
Gender: Male
Age: 20 to 25

Vivienne Kensington
A smart, savvy, and uptight law student and Warner's fiancee who initially dismisses Elle, but grows to be her friend.

Brooke Wyndam
An exercise video mogul who is also a former sorority girl. She is energetic and charismatic, yet currently on trial for murder.

Audition/Interview Dates:
Sunday, July 8th 2pm-10pm in Theatre4 at TPS

Callbacks or second audition/interview?
Callbacks will be held on Monday, July 9th & Tuesday, July 10th at 5-10pm.

Audition Requirements:
Prepare one verse and chorus of a musical theater song that shows off your range and acting ability. Be prepared with additional choices since you may be asked to sing another song. Sheet music must be in the correct key.

Monetary compensation:
Equity: $15/hour Rehearsal with 24 hours guaranteed $120 performance
Non AEA: Between $250-500
