Synopsis: Based on Christopher Isherwood's The Berlin Stories, the musical is the story of Cliff, an American writer who comes to Berlin at the dawn of the Hitler era. He falls in with the denizens of the decadent Kit Kat Klub, and takes on the club's former star attraction, Sally Bowles, as his roommate. As he struggles to write a novel, he witnesses the blindness and self-deception of a group of people who allow Nazism to gradually take control while they are emotionally and spiritually "fast asleep."
PVP’s Vision: Pullman.vs.Paxton is a 501c3 non-profit group of musicians, actors, and event producers striving to make kickass musical theatre with limited funds. In addition to putting on a quality show, we make sure to donate a large portion of our proceeds from each production to LGBTQIA and LGBTQIA ally non-profit agencies such as Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets, Gay City Health Project, It Gets Better Project, Freedom to Marry, and Human Rights Campaign.
Never heard of us?
Most recently, we had a sold out run of Heathers The Musical at the Erickson Theatre Off-Broadway. Prior to PVP from 2011-2015, we worked as the Executive and Artistic Directors of Chandelier Productions. In that time, our shows raised needed funds for many local and national LGBT organizations. We have had a lot of success with “one-night only” or short run productions in music venues and non-traditional theater spaces in Seattle including “The Rocky Horror Show” at the Showbox Market (raising over $8,000 for Gay City) and a sell-out performance of “Hedwig & The Angry Inch” at The Crocodile in 2011, where in conjunction with Rudy’s Barbershop, The Stranger, and Cupcake Royale, we raised more than $10,000 for IGB Project.
Performances: November 29 – December 9, 2018 @ The Yaw Theater in Georgetown
Rehearsal Period: August 31-December 9 (Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons – some Monday evenings may also be required)
