Other details:
About the Director
Pearl Klein has directed plays with school-age kids as well as the burlesque world — and in many worlds in between. She is also an actor and writer whose work has been seen for the past dozen years all over Seattle and the Puget Sound area. Currently, she's writing a one-woman show with the working title "Word Nerd: The Etymology of Fun."

About the Writer
Cassandra Moselle started as an actor working in community theaters in her hometown of Seattle, WA before graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts: Drama, Bachelor of Arts: English: Creative Writing Emphasis, and a Bachelor of Arts: Women Studies.
Shortly after graduating from the UW, Ms. Moselle took her first burlesque class and has been performing burlesque ever since. This journey took her on tours up-and-down the west coast before she decided to take her career one step further and moved to Arezzo, Italy to pursue an M.F.A. in Physical Theater at Accademia dell’Arte.
The program’s emphasis on actor/creator led to numerous devised works in the realm of Commedia dell’Arte, clown, physical theater, among others.
Currently, Ms. Moselle resides in Seattle, WA and continues her work as an actor and creator. She is curious how she can combine her knowledge of American theater, European Theatre, and variety performances into creating new works for the stage and founded WhatNot Theatrics to explore her curiosity. WhatNot Theatrics is powered by Shunpike.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Each character has a song and the characters of Fiona Fawn, Suzy, Dolly, Anora, Lilou, and Eloise will perform a routine(s).

Routine: 3-6 minute solo number(s) during the show that could be contortion, juggling, hula hoop, burlesque, mask, mime, etc. At this time we cannot accept aerial or fire suggestions. If cast into one of these roles you would work with the director to determine what of your special skills you would bring to the show.
Ensemble, vocal, and movement training a plus but not required.

Character Breakdowns
We welcome and will consider women, transgender, or gender non-conforming performers of all races, ethnicity, body types, and ages (over 21, due to venue restrictions).

Characters without routines:
Joanna Johanna Tart: Impresario and boss of the buskers. Tart is throwing her annual
new recruit/company party in order to grow her network of buskers.

Tessie Jones: Tart’s rival. Maid by day, thief by night Tessie runs an organization of cat burglars. Tessie briefly dated Tart and the relationship ended poorly. She still holds a grudge.

Characters with routines:
Fiona Fawn: A potential new recruit, Fawn is new in town and is looking for work. She received a tip that if she wanted to try and work with the local buskers that she should meet Tart.

Suzy: The one trying to keep everything together. Suzy is one of Tart’s first employee and is effervescently optimistic.

Dolly: The one who jumps ship. The Dazzling Darling Diva Dolly comes to outgrow Tart’s company and leaves behind busking in order to try her hand at thieving after meeting Tessie.

Anora North: The one who ratted out Mikey. Reserved, strong, and proud she doesn’t show fear when she learns that Mikey has escaped and may show up to the party at any moment.

Lilou Figg: The scorned lover. Is in a relationship with Eloise until she calls it off.

Eloise: The heartbreaker. Was in a relationship with Lilou and is trying to get her back.
