Patience is one of the more popular G&S operettas, and centers around a rivalry between two poets, the rapturous maidens who are in love with them, a squad of British Dragoon Guards who are in love with the maidens, and a milkmaid – Patience – who is in love with none of them.

Director Ruben van Kempen and maestro Bernard Kwiram are looking to create a fresh version of this hilarious show, embracing the beauty and power of the music and story while updating the pacing and humor to a more contemporary sensibility.

Patience will perform at The Bagley Wright Theatre, opening on July 13th and running until July 22nd.

Rehearsals will begin towards the end of May, generally taking place on Sunday thru Thursday from 7pm to 10pm, and Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

All roles are open, and we encourage performers from all racial and ethnic backgrounds and all gender identities to audition. We are particularly excited to assemble a multicultural cast, and all roles are open for nontraditional casting.

Other details:
Director - Ruben van Kempen
Music director - Bernard Kwiram
Choreographer - Beth Orme

*Please note – These auditions will also function as initial auditions for a second, contemporary show that Seattle G&S will be producing at 12th Avenue Arts. More information on that project will be available in a few days. As such, for maximum consideration, we would recommend tailoring one of your audition pieces to Patience and one to the TBD production.
