Character Breakdown / Project Needs
The Battle of the Bards competitors are:

The Salem Witch Orgasms
By Ali Davis
Directed by Lia Fakhouri

A story within a story, think Salem Witch Trials meets The Princess Bride. Or, The Crucible 2017. It's the SEX-positive re-telling of the real cause of the witch trials, passed from grandmother to grandson. Content Warning: Sex and Orgasms.

the sky is on fire
By Lauren Rekhelman
Directed by Laura Shearer

A take on the classic Orpheus and Eurydice myth, emphasizing language and image to create a sensitive and very human portrait of Ovid’s characters. Set in a strange yet unsettlingly familiar underworld the story is told primarily from Eurydice’s point of view and explores how Orpheus and Eurydice change, heal, and find their ways after Eurydice’s untimely death.

The Tragical Historie of Dr. Dites, DDS
By Olivia Sterne
Directed by Steven Sterne

A comic retelling of the Faustian legend, reset in the modern world of dentists and orthodontists. We’re looking for actors with great comic timing, an appreciation of the absurd, and the courage to go big. Dites is a two syllable name, pronounced die-teez.

Each show is casting a wide range of actors so all races, ages and genders are encouraged to sign up!

Audition/Interview Dates:
