Theatre Puget Sound Audition Listing Service
When the annual grill-a-thon sets in to tear apart the seemingly innocuous neighborhood, old wounds are reignited when Jamie risks everything for his chance at acquiring the neighborhood medal. Participation trophies be damned! Years of lost competitions and burnt hot dogs have only helped fuel Jamie’s desire to prove himself, and this year’s grill-a-thon will be one for the books… and the morgue.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
--JAMIE (20s to 30s)
A mild mannered loser and terrible grill master who experiences small man’s syndrome when comparing himself to his esteemed neighbor, Michael. He’s a man who’s got nothing to lose, and will do anything to win.
--MICHAEL (20s to 30s)
Jamie’s neighbor, he’s the American dream embodied. While having done nothing to offend Jamie personally, his mere existence as the perfect neighbor (and the better grill master) is the ultimate fuel to their explosive conflict.
--GERARD (20s to 30s)
Jamie’s roommate, and probably the only normal person in the neighborhood. Often the voice of reason, but every now and then, helps fuel Jamie’s distain of their perfect neighbor.
