Medicaid budget cuts end a group therapy for middle school girls, but these girls have some unfinished business with each other. To celebrate their time spent together they host a no-holds-bar “safe space” slumber party, complete with pizzas, makeovers and an intense game of truth or dare. As the night progresses it becomes evident that the therapy is ending at pivotal moments in each of these girls’ lives. Tensions start to rise and teens begin to brawl over eating disorder accusations, and triggers. Jo’s mother, one of the supposed chaperones, overdoses on opioids. These girls must learn how to make space for themselves in a world that will not allow for vulnerability
