Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Reina: Latina male, 50’s to 60’s. Speaks with an elegant Spanish accent and a Cuban dialect. He is flamboyant, charming and well-grounded in his “womanhood”. A handsome man with echoes of a once gorgeous drag queen diva. His deteriorating health has left him in a frail state physically though his personality doesn’t waver.

Tamika: African-American woman, 45 years old. She is a compassionate and caring nurse who is struggling with her unfulfilled life and marriage. A marriage that happened because she got knocked up and then gave birth to a stillborn infant. She is innocent and timid, always doing what is expected of her but she struggles with her sexuality and what she truly wants.

Derek / Cuban Officer: African American man, 50’s. He is a blue collared worker with once a strong exterior. He has let himself go over the years, losing his sexual drive and finding a complacency in his lifestyle and marriage with Tamika.

The Cuban Officer is a very dangerous man.

Mirabella / Che Guevara: Latino male, 20s. He could be seen as a gorgeous “woman”. He is naïve and innocent, and he is a dreamer and a lover but deep down is also strong. He has this haunting quality.

Che Guevara is a revolutionary, has a similar haunting quality.

Cuban Showgirl / Head Nurse: Afro- Latina, 21 years old. Transgender. She is gorgeous and can sing.

Head Nurse is cold and a no nonsense woman.
