British Pantomime is a combination of jokes, pop culture references, music, fairy tale, and absolutely no 4th wall. It's interactive and high energy, and it relies on highly skilled actor/singer/dancers.
This year, Centerstage continues it's long tradition of producing Pantomime for Christmas with the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast.
We are looking to fill a few more roles - please see casting specifics for details.
Here's quick glimpse into the Pantomime tradition:
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
Fairy Snowflake - Female. Soprano, comedic skills required. Must be comfortable transitioning between being "in the story" and interacting extensively with the audience. Imagine if the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio melded with Leslie Knope.
Female and Male ensemble - Ensemble members for this Pantomime will play a named castle character - Lumiere, Cogsworth, etc. - as well as filling in all the other scenes as various denizens of the town. There are only 4 ensemble members in this piece. Strong dance is a requirement, as well as solid vocals. Character acting is key here.
We are looking for all physical types: any race, ethnicity, body type, gender...we want to see you!
Monday, July 24th
Callbacks or second audition/interview?
