We're looking to cast the role of Ruth—the lead character in a world premiere staged reading of a new musical.

Shanghaied! tells the story of a Native American woman who is attempting to discover who shanghaied her brother. The musical is set against the backdrop of the brutal, bawdy, corrupt Portland riverfront of 1894.

REHEARSALS: Table read July 2017 (date and time TBD). Rehearsals will begin on or near Sept. 17. Up to five rehearsals will be scheduled between Sept. 17 and 27.

PERFORMANCES: Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7:00pm and Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7:00pm. The Siren Theatre; 315 NW Davis St, Portland, Oregon

Audition Requirements:
Please prepare a video of you singing. You may prepare 32 bars of a traditional musical theatre style song, or approximately 2 minutes of you singing to pre-recorded instrumental music. Traditional Native singers are encouraged to audition.

Monetary compensation:
Stipend of $150 will be provided; transportation costs will be covered
