Hello There!

My names James and I am the Events Coordinator over here at Well ’n Green. We throw events to raise awareness and funds for causes that are both social and environmental. Next month we have an event going on for World Oceans Day in Ballard.

Our goals with this event are to raise awareness concerning the amount of plastic entering the ocean each year, and to raise funds for The Ocean Project as well as a state-wide ban on single use plastic bags.

This event, “The Ballard Bootie Crawl” is a pirate/ treasure hunt themed pub crawl. We have artists from multiple mediums (music, painting, sculpting etc.) coming to support and performing at different venues participating in this event.

The reason I’m contacting you, is because we are looking for a couple actors who might want to donate some time and talent for the cause by dressing up as pirates and engaging the public/ our participants, about plastic pollution and the event we have going on.

I know this is probably an unorthodox request but we're hoping to find some generous souls who believe in the cause and want to have some fun!

Thank you!

We would like a little preview of your best pirate impression reading one of these facts

Americans throw away 35 billion plastic water bottles every year

Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide. More than one million bags are used every minute.

Plastic constitutes approximately 90 percent of all trash floating on the ocean's surface, with 46,000 pieces of plastic per square mile.

In samples collected in Lake Erie, 85 percent of the plastic particles were smaller than two-tenths of an inch, and much of that was microscopic. Researchers found 1,500 and 1.7 million of these particles per square mile.

Just one will be enough

Thank you!

Monetary compensation:
Unfortunately we do not have a budget ( besides the money that will be spent on costumes )

We are donating all the proceeds to either the The World Ocean Project or to help with a statewide ban on single use plastic bags so our goal is to find actors that love what we're doing as a company and as a community and want to be apart of the experience.
