This is a new, yet to be written, political based Devised/Sculpted Project from the By the Seat of Our Theatre Company.

What is Sculpted?

Sculpted: For a playwright to cast a group of actor with an idea/prompt in mind, but the script not written yet. From the discussion, devising, response, and inspiration of the actors, the playwright will sculpt a play to fit those specific people to address and explore a specific group of questions. This is done to encourage dialogue, a greater diversity of actors to be cast, and for the play to be a more collaborative and inclusive effort.

Minorities, people of color, and those who feel underrepresented on stage are encouraged to audition.

What is the idea?

To Burn; The country is divided. Everyone is heated up about something. The playwright is interested in exploring how that anger manifests, where does it come from, and where does it go. He is also asking the following questions of the actors he will cast.

What does it mean to burn? Can we burn correctly? If so, what is the correct way to burn? Should there be one? How harmful is it to burn violently? How helpful? What is a harmless burn? What is a dangerous burn? What burns within ourselves? How does that manifest? Especially in response to the recent political climate.

Rehearsals will be 12 hours a week. They are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6 to 9. And Saturdays from 2 to 5. Starting on April 24th. We may adjust according to your schedule.

To audition please email us with you headshot and resume and request a five minute time slot for April 7th. You will be notified that day if you are called back. Please email us with any questions you have.
